The previous lawn guy dropped them, the grass grew, and the HOA started knocking! I mow this tall grass overgrown yard to keep them out of hot water and violation free!

Yep, what my wife and I did was just found a neighborhood in an area we like with a bunch of retired folks. Finances of course let us do that and have a nice house, but it's so wonderful not having an HOA yet still having nice properties around us and keeping up with our property of course.

When you first meet with a realtor when looking to buy a house, the FIRST words out of your mouth should be, "No HOAs under any circumstance". If you don't, you have only yourself to blame. NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER buy a home in an HOA neighborhood.

there are good HOA and BAD HOA, I'm getting my license as a real estate brokers. from what I learn, there's value being in HOA that is volunteering due not mandating fee, so I make sure my clients know this if they don't want to be in a HOA

@@MrMundo3d The problem is like neighbors. You can have a great neighbor for 40 years and some real piece of work move in. HOAs even if not horrible now can be twisted into the most petty annoying nosy group of people. Given that HOA can issue fines far worse than a neighbor too.

Those were the first words out of my mouth no HOA and no deeded properties. Yes Yes I know they are basically the same, BUT the realtor will push anything.

I’m not sure why you wouldn’t want an HOA. Typically neighborhoods without them are unruly and unkempt. You will end up with neighbors with pink garage doors and green roofs and it will destroy housing prices. The key is not avoiding HOA‘s all together, but avoiding the ones that are poorly managed.

Imagine working for years to make a decent life for yourself, you do all the right things and manage to get your dream home. Move in, get all settled in and say hi to all your new neighbours. But down the street lurks a menace, someone bent on making your peaceful life a living hell. That creature is called the HOA. Now your home isnt your home its their home, able to dictate what you can and cannot do with it. Imagine that. Scary.

I am impressed ! You're hired ! You define the how and but not so why you processed this lawn this way . As a person that has been in the lawn care industry for going on now 20 years , this is the very logical way you did this over-grown lawn , the same way I would have had tackled the objective . I saw the tagged comments in the presentation of why you did not bag the trim . You are correct on not bagging it , that I do understand also the break down of organics . Otherwise you have to charge for disposal . Nothing complicated just another good day at the office . Kevin Scott December 15, 2019 Sunday 6:01 pm ( St.Louis area )

You're right about the grass breaking up fast here in Florida. A neighbors grass was 10 to 12 inches high. After it was cut all you could see was the cuttings. After 5 to 7 days the cuttings were completely broken down. The lawn was green and looking good. Bare in mind this was in late December or early January. We're in south central Florida. No snow.

I lived in an HOA for a while, my grass barely grew but I would get calls if I had three weeds taller than 6 inches, I always told the HOA "MOW THE COMMON AREAS THEY ARE 3 FEET TALL, and then they wouldn't bother me for months. I would mow the neighbors across the streets house more than mine, he must have had some nice sod it would grow and he would go out of town for weeks, I figured theives might see an un kept lawn in an HOA and figure they are out of town. @@winstonpoplin This is the kind of mindset that brings value in HOAs. Not everyone lives on a farm and wants to see tall grass. On my 50 acres, yes I let the grass get tall. It isn't a think where I live locally. I live in Florida which is very hot, humid, and gets tons of sun. That means the clippings biodegrade on their own and break down into nitrogen for the lawn. Free fertilizer and no work or tons of work, cost, and equipment to manage clippings (that don't need to be moved in the first place)?

You call THAT tall grass?? Call me when it's up to your shins. I'm so glad that the HOA concept doesn't exist in the UK. People have far more important things to worry about than whether someone has mown their lawn or trimmed their hedges, such as actual crime and anti-social behaviour.

In USA everybody thinks lawns have to look like golf courses and if there is any other plant growing in the yard then neighbors think you are bad. But dont forget it is the chemical companies that make people do this and anyone who thinks they have to be a perfect grass neighbor should go follow the rest of the sheep off the bridge cause they are all dumb and retarded.

If you wanted it cleaned up more you would have paid 3x. I have no problem working on a yard until there are no clippings, and in fact I always explain the options. Cut once and let the grass break down for X, or make it look perfect for 3X. Since I have to triple cut a yard like this to eliminate clippings I would have to charge 3X more. I have NEVER had anyone want to pay 3X more when paying X and waiting a week for the clippings to break down get the same result.

I would spend an extra 20 min multichannel clippings up and blowing g that so it looked as clean as could be. It was a real hassle making it look perfect. I ask the homeowner if they cared and he said no, “I think it will be better to keep the grass from growing so fast”. Fine with me less work and I’m still charging the same. You don’t notice then after 2 days anyway with how fast his yard grows anyway.

I always break into laughter at the American way of life when I see this stuff. 'Violation'? What, or whom has been 'violated'? Can someone please elaborate on this term?
@CopperCreekCuts
@CopperCreekCuts 4 жыл бұрын
Think of an HOA (Homeowner's Association) as a mini government that makes rules the neighborhood has to follow. Everyone who buys a house agrees to live by those rules. If the rules aren't followed, the HOA has the authority and ability to fine someone for a violation. Typically, violations on this channel come about from not following rules around maintaining the property. Grass is too tall, too many weeds, etc.

Nice work. I never leave the guard on my weedeaters. It blocks my view and gets in my way. Sometimes I want a little more string too. Crank it up and I can mow faster than a push mower. @@CopperCreekCuts Keeps me from having to walk all around small trees and such. I miss the old Yazoo brand weedeaters...big and heavy but power through anything and you could replace the clutch. Years ago working for a landscape company, they had them. The throttle was on the handle, not the shaft so you could put it on your shoulder when edging and steer it better. (ear protection, the engine is right behind your head) Cut laser sharp edges as fast as you could walk. For some reason I seem to be able to stay cleaner with one that spins clockwise too. I know it's just the angle you hold it at that determines where stuff gets thrown but I got used to clockwise and when I've used other brands that go counter clockwise I end up with legs covered in green fur. (Ok, ok, I'll stop talking weedeater arts)

Mainly just a preference if you want the trimmer line to go out farther. Some people can trim faster with the guard off because the line can go out a couple inches farther
@CopperCreekCuts

Like Excellence said, it lets more line out. I have an attachment without a head for a commercial property I do with pond banks, because the angle gets guards caught. Disadvantages include extra wear on the engines and less safety without a guard.
