Hubby and I both worked extra hours this week so it was difficult to dedicate a whole day to decluttering. But we broke up little 15-30 decluttering sessions so that we could continue chopping away at the clutter. We are getting closer & closer to our remodel date!! It just goes to show that even you Declutter for 15 minutes a day, it goes a long way over time!

I’ve been watching you for a long time and this is my first time commenting. I need to tell you how overjoyed I am for this next stage of your life (even though we’ve never met lol!). I’ve had horrifying depression for years and last year, the skies started to open up. I felt hope for the future for the first time. In your voice I hear hope, I hear contentment, and I hear joy. You remind me of what I sounded like when I went through a huge shift forward in my recovery and I’m so emotional. What a special feeling. I’m just so happy for you and truly wish you and your family the best.

Hey! I'm glad to hear about how Ms. Heart has helped you. I just wanted to let you know that you're not alone and lots of us have been helped by Ms. Heart and inspired by her-- me included. About a year or so ago, I was making my first shy comment on Ms. Heart's page too about how she made me emotional with her power and spirit. This comment section is truly a supportive family both for her and for us, and you're safe and welcomed here. She has a wonderful way of making you feel special and loved just as much as we all care about her. ❤

I love that you were able to use them under the bed storage for something meaningful. Your hubby is kicking butt too. I love the t-shirts folded that way it looks like he has some fun ones! I fold my kids clothes that way I started years ago and it's the best for the drawer systems. It's very visual and tends to stay neater cuz you can actually see what you're getting out.

Great job!! You might want to look at reading When a Slob Comes Clean by Dana k. White. She was a lot like you. And her 2 questions are if I was looking for this where would I look? And if I where needing this would I know I had it? She is really helping me a ton to look at organizing a bit differently for my organizing clients. Because how I think and how they do are 2 different ways. She’s awesome.

I recommend putting all your pony stuffed animals in that purple tote you emptied. You’re going for a romantic and grown up space. You can put that tote in the basement. Also have you thought of addressing the water issue in your basement? Then the space would become more usable.

I have a suggestion for your sentimental stuff, go through those totes now and separate them. Have one for pictures, one for cards, etc... that way when you run across more you can set them in the tote and it will be easier to find and go through later when you are ready. I would also just keep the cards not the envelopes (unless they are decorated like my kiddo does) but reg ones I toss. I also have a box that has about 12 mini boxes in it to separate pictures. That way I can label to pictures (holiday/year/occasion/vacation, whatever you want). You have plenty of empty totes, I would separate now as you find them so you won’t need to do it later. Plus you see it now and can make one quick decision if you should get rid of or wait, then when you see it again you can decide if it kept the same sentimental value or decreased. The more you expose yourself to it, you will find it’s true value to you and make it easier if you want to get rid of it.

I read a book called Cozy Minimalism and per her suggestion, when we got a new bed we took everything else out of the bedroom. Then put back the dresser, nightstands, one chair, and as few little things as possible. Then I could see what was missing (white curtains instead of brown, a bigger rug, a different comforter). So many things stayed out of the bedroom permanently and now it is tidy all the time and absolutely restful and I love it! You might see if your library has that book!
