This video just left me thinking...seriously?what just happened? Let me explain; I believe I started watching your videos after Dawn from The Minimal Mom mentioned you. I decided to watch them from the very first video in order. And from the first video I could not believe that here is a person who thinks just like me(also, we have kept a lot of the same random 80's stuff haha)! A strange sentimental attachment to things because they awaken memories and good feelings and even though I have been watching other organizers and slowly decluttering watching you has truly motivated me to keep going! But the woman in this video, I don't know if it's because you revealed yourself or what, but this woman, is a new person!! You went through that one box with sooo much ease! And I know I'm 2 years behind in videos but I just had to comment on this one. Thank you for sharing your journey!

The CICU (cardiac ICU) at our children's hospital that my daughter was admitted to immediately following birth used crocheted things like that. Like in our case, baby was transferred/admitted and they didn't take the things we had ready to go with her. So when we got to finally see her, they had her in one. I still have it and appreciate whomever donated them.

You made a video at the beginning of your journey in healing from hoarding disorder how it affected your hubby and his thoughts. If you’re willing to share, I’d love to know how your healing has affected your hubby. My hoarding was a huge issue between my ex-husband and I, unfortunately he’s not around to see my healing process and things leave my home.

Woohoo! Way to go! re: the baby booties. Consider not looking for the perfect place to donate them if it's too much hassle. Just let them go to the fastest place to donate them. But if that's too hard or difficult at this time for you to consider, then I think finding a charity that helps new mom's who are struggling would be a great place for the booties. I think trying to coordinate with a hospital would be time consuming and they might require extra steps or sanitation.

That set of drawer will be a great organizational piece for your crafts after you go through them! Labeling all the drawers. Probably only your ribbon will fit! haha
@harrietgrove18334 жыл бұрын
If you take this suggestion, I’d like to suggest you use the rule I follow as a professional organizer. I call it the rule of finite space. For example, if you only own one bookcase, the number of books that fit on that bookcase is all you can have. If you acquire a new book and there’s no room in the bookcase, an old book has to go. You don’t go out and buy a second bookcase. If you decide to keep ribbon in the set of drawers and all of your ribbon doesn’t fit in there, then choose the ribbon that will stay and donate the rest instead of having an additional bin of ribbon. Sometimes I apply this rule to a tolerance level. For example, let’s say you can tolerate and have room for eight craft bins. Then that’s all the craft supplies you can have - eight bins worth. The rest has to go. I hope you think about this when you get to the point where you are whittling down things. Don’t buy more bins. You will get to this point. I know you will. Thank you for sharing your journey.

You are doing great. I have seen you come a long way. I always declutter on a monthly basis. It could be a closet, drawer or the small attic I have. I do not have a basement which I am glad. My garage has very little in it. Hubby has very little. I think twice before I buy something and bring it home. My friend has a consignment store, she buys from me all my unwanted items and she sells them at her store. Next month I will be showing her my fall items that I no longer love and she will resell them. That way I feel they will go to a new home. Keep up the great work! Just stay out of the stores and you will reach your goal.

Hopefully when you clear out more of this section you can move all your craft stuff from the middle to this side so you don’t have to “sort” through all the bins that you’ve already been putting aside for your craft declutter. Looks amazing! Keep pushing through!

I just want to say I admire you for your consistency to get in a space and declutter it sections at a time. For myself, I struggle so very much with being consistent with much of anything. I would really love to hear your thoughts on how you maintain consistency and motivation to keep at it. You give me hope that it can be done. I sure need to figure out how to do this myself. Yup, having a bottle of water is a thing we been recommended to do, only this last year. The pain is changing it so it is reasonably fresh. X) I really need to put my kit together, seening how we had like a really rough winter storm last year with several long power outages. ETA: in case this seems weird to anyone: during long power outages the pumps to the water systems won’t work and as people draw water, the water pressure will go down until you no longer get any water through the tap. If you live in a multistory building, the ones in the top floors will loose water access first. Thus, with all these global warming and trashed ecology related storms and 100year weather we keep getting, my country last year sent all households a pamflet about stuff you should keep to be ready for a 4+day long power outage. Like blankets, canned food, flashlights, batteries, candles etc. And water. :)

Emergency supplies are the only thing “just in case” apply😉 You should definitely keep enough water for your family! Maybe find a better spot? Garage, maybe? Annually, set a date to check on the expiration and/or replace the old with new. For me it’s 3.11 because here in Japan that’s when the big earthquake and tsunami hit back in 2011😭 So when March comes, various media will talk about it, and that reminds me to check on all my emergency stuff. Having less things will help you take care of what you really need to tend to💕

I have ADHD and OCD and been on medication for ADHD has made a huge positive difference for me, so I definitely recommend getting diagnosed 💕 I know you said you weren’t sure if the difference ADHD is attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, ADD is attention deficit disorder. So basically the same without the hyperactivity. I’m from the uk and we don’t use ADD here we only class it as ADHD, I’m not sure if this is the same in America. Also when you say your mind is constantly running this is a hyperactive trate. Hope this helps 💕

Wow great decluttering on this episode! Not sure if your husband replaced the headrests with something else or if he is just driving without any, but if that is the case it would be very dangerous for his neck if he were to get in an accident. The headrest prevents your head from flying back and really shouldn't be removed. Not trying to be preachy or anything, just thought you might want to know that.

The prepper in me always has a case of water in gallon jugs 🤣 The main reason is because we tend to lose water a few times a year and the gallon is easier to fill up dog bowls. Just yesterday my water was out majority of the day and I'm now on a boil water advisory. Keeping water on hand makes life much easier for me sometimes.

If the crocheted clothes are preemie or newborn size, donate to a maternity ward definitely. They use them for stillborn babies and it's really a blessing. If they are bigger then another spot would be better, probably.
