Let the lamp go - it's kinda fugly and has seen better days! You can find something much cuter! I ripped all my CD's to digital a long time ago and was able to let them go. Sold them to a used record store and got about $250. More recently, I went through all my cassette tapes and made a Spotify playlist of them, and was able to let most of those go as well.

I watch as she passes each pole. There’s 3 I think. I’m waiting for her to get to that last pole and turn left. It’s really interesting to see what it takes just to go a couple feet. Getting past the first two poles was quite a some work! Once she gets to that last pole I think things will be so much easier to organize because she will have a lot more room to work with. Then she can think about doing some Kon Marie videos! I think Kon Marie ribbons is going to be epic.

@@HolographicCathawk I totally agree! She keeps saying it and I can’t wait for her to do her crafts. It’s going to be so exciting to see what she’s stashed away and to see her happiness in finding all the things to make fun projects. And she’ll be organized enough to complete them.

Mrs. Heart, I had a thought I was thinking when hearing about the Atari games. When you say you have so many ideas for the basement, I would try and map those out! There's been talk of a craft area, a gaming area, a play area, etc. I think mapping that out would also kind of let you see what is realistic to keep vs. not! :)

I’m a natural minimalist, so at first I was really frustrated at myself for not wanting to get rid of the baby clothes and toys we had been saving for future kids. Definitely donate the lamp. Is it worth the space physically and mentally while you are making such strides and effort to empty the basement? I’ve been watching your videos for some time and want to say that you’re doing an amazing job in dealing with your hoarding. You’ve mentioned frequently that you’ve collected all these things so that in case there’s no money, it’s there for your family. I’d like to suggest a reframing: creating space is now protecting your family like being able to shelter them from the hurricane and creating deep connections with your boys and dad in playing their games. Plus you’ll be able to connect more with your love language with lovingly crafted gifts. I just reorganized my stitching/crafting room and there’s no more frustrations with finding things to craft. Your journey is worth it!

Its difficult not to obsess all day about the declutter concept..It is always on my mind! I have a list of my stuff to declutter. When I have tea, I always ponder over the list. I mentally declutter ahead. Makes it easier! So when I physically am ready , its easier! Sometimes some Items I have to ponder over a little longer and /or accept I have to keep. Om In conflict.
