Imagine that floor getting a unicorn treatment after the basement declutter is done. Imagine hardwood or a nice Linoleum. The Insulation covered. The basement becoming a real room of the house instead of a limbo space! It‘s starting to get real pretty quickly now! You‘re doing so well! 🙌🏼

I can’t wait for all those empty boxes to be gone from the middle of the basement! I’ve been waiting since episode 1 of the basement decluttering for you to get to this point. So happy I’ve stuck with this series. You never disappoint with your videos. 💜

Μe too I wish she will just go around the basement and pick up plastic bags and empty boxes

@@sarrabogri4455 same!! But I think she enjoys the victories of clearing out a whole section rather than the satisfaction of throwing all the tossy tossy out.

I watch as she passes each pole. There’s 3 I think. I’m waiting for her to get to that last pole and turn left. It’s really interesting to see what it takes just to go a couple feet. Getting past the first two poles was quite a some work! Once she gets to that last pole I think things will be so much easier to organize because she will have a lot more room to work with. Then she can think about doing some Kon Marie videos! I think Kon Marie ribbons is going to be epic.
@Genauish2 жыл бұрын
@@thehoardedgrotto8521 I totally agree! She keeps saying it and I can’t wait for her to do her crafts. It’s going to be so exciting to see what she’s stashed away and to see her happiness in finding all the things to make fun projects. And she’ll be organized enough to complete them.

Mrs. Heart, I had a thought I was thinking when hearing about the Atari games. When you say you have so many ideas for the basement, I would try and map those out! There's been talk of a craft area, a gaming area, a play area, etc. I think mapping that out would also kind of let you see what is realistic to keep vs. not! :)
@Diniecita2 жыл бұрын
I agree. Knowing the goal will help you work towards it. I wosh we had done a better job doing that with our basement. Now, my husband has it set up and refuses to move anything.

We found out a few months ago that we can’t have more kids. I’m a natural minimalist, so at first I was really frustrated at myself for not wanting to get rid of the baby clothes and toys we had been saving for future kids. But watching your videos has helped me understand my emotional attachment to those things as I process my grief. I will pass them on to another mom when I am emotionally ready. Thank you for your encouragement!

Mrs.Heart, The base of that lamp (the small glass one) is so cute! With a different lamp shade I'm sure you could find a place in your home for it. That way your sentimental piece could be out where you could see and enjoy it!

Maybe use it to light a display of sentimental items when the basement is ready to organize! I think it’s an adorable lamp too!

Hi, after decluttering your sentimental items, you could get some display cabinets or built-ins (with glass for the dust and maybe some hidden lighting) to display your ponies, your dalmatians and your little dolls. I plan on doing that too. Just an idea :)
@SalsaNube2 жыл бұрын
Wow! So proud of you! To let go those sentimental items and do not feel anxiety rise-you have reached a high level! Keep rocking Mrs Heart! For the lamp- i suggest to keep it, until you will start arranging the basement. Maybe it will look cute and be useful e.g. in a crafting section? But if you will then see that it does not fit, you will let it go. You are already ready to do so!:) Cheers and lots of love from Poland! 💕 🦄 ✨

Definitely donate the lamp. Is it worth the space physically and mentally while you are making such strides and effort to empty the basement? With all of the progress you have made, I wonder if you could weigh even some of the sentimental items against the idea of the basement being a family space to make memories now while your kiddos are growing up...

I’ve been watching your videos for some time and want to say that you’re doing an amazing job in dealing with your hoarding. You’ve mentioned frequently that you’ve collected all these things so that in case there’s no money, it’s there for your family. I’d like to suggest a reframing: creating space is now protecting your family like being able to shelter them from the hurricane and creating deep connections with your boys and dad in playing their games. Plus you’ll be able to connect more with your love language with lovingly crafted gifts. I just reorganized my stitching/crafting room and there’s no more frustrations with finding things to craft. Your journey is worth it!

Great job! I recommend donating the floor lamp now if you are not attached to it. I remember you kept a sentimental childhood lamp too, so maybe if more light is needed you could use that one instead (and keep enjoying its memories each time you use it)? THANKS, MISS HEART! Great video! Love seeing the piles to go! Little bits at a time is the way! My anxiety is to want to finish! Its difficult not to obsess all day about the declutter concept..It is always on my mind! I have a list of my stuff to declutter. When I have tea, I always ponder over the list. I mentally declutter ahead. Makes it easier! So when I physically am ready , its easier! Sometimes some Items I have to ponder over a little longer and /or accept I have to keep. Om In conflict. I always was a minimalist. Children and sentiment changed that. Glad that you are comming to trems! This will bring you happinrss and freedom!

Let the lamp go - it's kinda fugly and has seen better days! You can find something much cuter! I ripped all my CD's to digital a long time ago and was able to let them go. Sold them to a used record store and got about $250. More recently, I went through all my cassette tapes and made a Spotify playlist of them, and was able to let most of those go as well.

enjoy watching your progress. 1. whe i volunteered for sunday school or and scouts.---saved alot of the small coffee cans for crafts. 2 thinned down but still have smaller container of stationaries-- Crazy how that stuff floats in the house uninvited. 3. Nicely done , saving the plastic tools to go with the toy tool table. 4. you mentioned either dedoing the basement or selling the house , so i would hang ontp the lamps for th etime being until you have more formed plans. 5. This grandmother was so happy to buy toddler hangers at the virtual garage sales when building a starter thing for the first born grandkid. o am sure someone will be happy for inexpensiv estrong tot hangers.
