Just an idea for the diper changer. If u want to keep it, then put away the mattress and use the furniture for your craft area for bins. The furniture will be used again and u can look at it all the time, but if the boys will be older and u still have it, just a bit of paint and sanding and they can use it for the original purpose as well :)

No sense in keeping the pad considering the amount of mold in this basement. Wouldn’t want to put a baby on it and they cost less than $30 last time I bought one.

For it "just" being a paper declutter today, that was a TON! I do agree with somebody else's comment that the changing table mattress needs to be thrown out, as they don't store well, and the entire thing may no longer be considered baby-safe, but keeping it as a butterfly storage system for craft bins may be a great compromise for you! Although I'm a "touch it once" declutterer, I can really see how well this "obvious trash and sort" decluttering has been working for you! Instead of hemming and hawing for an hour about your Precious Moments dolls or random surprise Christmas decor, you just sort, store, and keep on trucking. These category KonMari sorts seem to be what works for YOU, both without stressing you out or making you fearful of decluttering. I think you've found YOUR stride, and let's be honest- your house, YOUR WAY.

When I want to save a cardboard box, I fold it flat. I keep one or two for giving breakable objects away. I make lots of crafts, my bins are see through plastic shoeboxes. I have 4. When they start to get full, I declutter. A friend gave me some ribbon yesterday. Tina, Al's wife

Just a question. If you look at the reveal, to the left you have a stack with bins. It looks like a loose pink lid that might go to that container you need it for. It looks like the lid is on top of the red bin. I’m almost sure it’s a lid that isn’t attached lol. The basement is coming along great. ❤

The diaper changing table can be storage for all your ribbon!!!! If you get some copier paper box lids (just the lids), you can sort your ribbon by color and then Konmari method the ribbon. Afterwards, those lids with the ribbon in them can be put on each shelf and even stacked. The lids and ribbon are lighter weight so you won’t have too much weight on the changing table shelves.

You did a great job decluttering in this episode and continuing to be organised with your bin system. It is great that you are now a little more able to let go of things relating to the period when you had your miscarriages. I read other people’s suggestion about using the dipper changing station as a craft shelf, but I was thinking wouldn’t it be a real blessing if you passed on your baby dipper changing station to another mummy and bring them joy instead. That way you could honour your children and also the memory of the children you lost by doing something positive and uplifting on their behalf in their names. The dipper station isn’t helping anyone just lying dormant not being used for its intended purpose and it is not a positive reminder for you as it stands at present, but it could be a truly positive reminder of just how far you have progressed if you let it go, and let go of some of the negative emotional sadness you have held onto for so long. Perhaps you could take photos of the changing station and then journal about how Brandon and Tyler would be proud of you turning your losses into a truly positive, loving and charitable donation to benefit another child or children. However, if you are still not ready to let it go then it’s fine to hold on to it a little longer or repurpose it some other way. Whatever you decide to do there is no judgement or right/wrong in your decluttering process as long as you stay true to yourself and your emotions. I wish you well with whatever you decide. 🙏💕

After watching your videos for a long time, this last week I finally felt up to going through my sentimental papers from when I was a kid. My mom kept nearly everything, and I've gone through smaller bits of it before, but now I've got the floor space to make smaller groups, declutter them one at a time, and keep chipping away at it. Your encouragement of letting go of what I can at the moment, and allowing myself to keep for now the things that feel like they need to stay, makes me feel braver about going through the pieces. I'm cheering you on!

I love that you’ve tackled your basement and are working through it. Ive been here from the beginning. You’ve let go a lot of garbage items and empty boxes. You’ve zoned many many things with like items. Which is like the most helpful step when beginning. You now have lots of categories with an abundance of bins. I am curious when we’ll see the next kon Mari declutter. When we’ll start seeing functional spaces like the kids area appear instead of only storage. You love crafting but we never see you use any of it. I was hoping to see some functional shelves with craft area set up soon. I am also very curious how your laundry craft storage area has been looking. Do you have much more to bring home from work to go through. Do you use all of the Christmas that you kept. I am curious if you will start keeping what you use and ever be a little more ruthless about not calling as much ‘“sentimental keep”. I know you have come a long way as it used to be hard with you to part with garbage items and now you let that go. But i know you also always want to help ppl by passing on usable items that are useful to others now rather then letting them sit and just hang out in bins not doing any thing. I’m curious what your plans and thought process is moving forward as far as what you’re keeping or how you’re deciding what stays. We know you know you are “safe” without the stuff as you prove time and again. I’d love to challenge you to take it to the push you need to really claim the basement. I know you really want to do it to please your boys by a certain date this year. As you’ve mentioned. I have to say doing little bits at a time is working so well for you. I’m just curious also is there much down there you haven’t looked through yet. Ive also noticed when you kon Marie the clothes you seem to do them all at once. As opposed to like the Christmas cave which was done in many parts. I am curious if you did all the Christmas at once do you think you would have been more likely to see it all at once and say i dont need this much like you did with the clothes. I know you broke it down to have room and not overwhelm yourself ❤but i kind of wonder if breaking it down into parts sort of tricked yourself into thinking you had less then you really did. I feel like there is a feeling that comes over you from piling it all there in one pile seeing it all at once that causes a helpful switch to flip with regard to letting go of more at a time. And i can go as far as to say i have been able to set limits on myself like i can keep 10 Christmas bins. Grab my favorites first and when those are full the rest goes etc. and trust me i was as bad if not much worse with my basement when i started. So i am no minimalist here criticizing your techniques. I am just wondering when we will see zoned usable spaces and not just bins for later. I think you deserve this now after all this hard work.

Great work just wanted to let you know that the precious moments figurines sell for very little and a lot of people are trying to unload them on Marketplace. You probably need to start letting some of these larger collections go/sell in a lot to get to end of job in your basement. You might try engaging the help of friends/family to tackle a reduction in crafts and Christmas items-this way you can see your stuff maybe going to them or a charity of your choice. Great job, but in every decluttering there needs to be a large bag going to the donation center-that’s the only way to complete the task. Best of luck

Just a question: did you decide to let go of the ‘mommy school’ booklets from when Brandon was little? I love the way you acknowledge and talk through sentimental papers, but personally I find it so difficult to acknowledge AND distance myself from the paper at the same time! My problem is ‘scraps’ of paper… my mum binned my notepads in one go when I was a teen, and so the already scattered “I’ll jot that down anywhere” turned into I just have floating bits of paper ALL OVER and it’s quickly overwhelming 😅 Any paper-specific tips? An inspiration, as always, Miss Heart 🦄 💕 ✨
