It's not entirely your fault that the g7x is breaking, mine is also, it is just not a reliable camera. I definitely recommend the rx100 Mark III, much more durable and same video quality.

***** How about the Samsung NX300? It's a smart-camera(Digital SLR) and isn't quite as bulky as its counterparts, and really easy to carry around. I'd like to say easier than the G7X, but I can't say until I test it.

The rx100 also involves some tomfoolery. I'd recommend Canon S120, the only bad part is the lens is slightly fisheye-ish

my rx100 mk2 survived from heavy water splash on beach, the video quality also amazing! i would definitely recommend mk3 for it's f/1.8-2.8

yes definitely go to the south island too! if you're gonna go to New Zealand there's no point in only seeing half of it, make sure you go to the south island aswell there's lots of cool stuff here like the narnia set and stuff and also if you like scenery & mountains and stuff theres the tranzalpine :)

As the matter of fact, I left my homecountry, Denmark, 6 months ago at the age of 16 to live in the US for a year! Definitely a life-changing experience in so many ways. New Zealand is like the Southern Hemisphere equivalent of the UK, the environment and landscapes seem so similar (apart from the giant sand dunes/desert) I really want to go to NZ and esp Hobbiton!
