Great work! For the panel-by-panel painting what size needle / nozzle do you use and at what PSI? And paint type and thinning ratio?

Thank you. I use a H&S Evo Silver line. 0.15mm needle/nozzle @ 12psi for paint, 8psi for metallics and clears and 20psi for primers

The colour is lighter than that of the base coat. This way the areas masked by the salt appear darker and of the originial colour of the aircraft, leaving the other areas more bleached due to weathering

Use some foam and masking tape to fill the gap where the opening section should be. A tight fitting mask should hold it all layers of paint until the end. Hope this helps and good luck!

What was the mixing ratio for the xf-19 and xf-23 camo color. Nice job.

Hello and thank you. The mix ratio was around 85/15 XF19/XF23. It's just enough to tint the colour towards blue rather than the more saturated grey of the straight XF19. Thanks for watching :)

I paint the inside of the nozzles first whilst I can access them off the model. Then later on I paint the outer once attached for better adhesion. Thank you 🙂

Its mainly Sky Grey and the Light Blue is just to tint the grey slightly for that Russian Aircraft Grey. Not sure what the ratio is exactly as I mix by eye, but would say 90:10 XF-19:XF-23

Could you give me a little bit more details about this salt technique? what is it going to do? would it be possible to reproduc it with a paintbrush?

It's very hard to explain in text but I'll give you a brief overview; The slat creates a temporary mask for the paint layer below. The salt is also random and not something you could create with masking tape for example. When the base coat colour is applied the salt follows. Then a slightly darker shade of the same base coat colour is sprayed over the top of the salt, creating very fine tonal changes whilst the paint that is masked by the salt remains unchanged. Once removed a mottled effect is left which replicates bleaching and other weathering mainly seen on jets. To replicate this by a paintbrush would be difficult. I guess you could paint the model in the base coat first. Then with a slightly darker shade of the same paint, lightly tap the surface with the paintbrush to apply a very subtle layer of mottled paint. There would have to be very little paint on the brush for the second layer though or the effect would be too pronounced - almost like dry brushing. I hope this helps and thanks for watching :)
