Thanks for sharing this very helpful video. I have an Outback that I have difficulty loading on my roof bars on a short bed Ute “pickup” Your method with the extender bar off the hitch is a real game changer and made life so much easier for an old kayaker. Many thanks again

Hey Kristine, new subscriber here 4 yr kayak fisherman in Fort Worth, TX. I've been following your tournament wins and want to say congratulations on smashing them out there. I load my PA12 the same way except no bed extender. I think its funny how many men I hear complaining about loading a PA on the Hobie Cart. They all say its to heavy and they cant do it. And then you clearly prove em different. I don't even take the rods out of my crate when I tip mine fully loaded. Its funny how quickly I can get my yak off a ramp with the cart. Anyway, keep up the great work. I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos. Also everyone please lift with your legs and not your back. You only get one.
@kristinefischer22895 жыл бұрын
I won’t lie.. there have been times during tournaments where I’ll load and unload 5 or 6 times during a day to cover water and that sixth time has gotten the best of me haha ! But mostly I manage fine! I think my height helps
@OldLadyAngler5 жыл бұрын
Pretty much the same method I use. Your height is a big plus for getting the nose up on the t bone. The hardest part for me is the nose up. It's not heavy but I'm short, so I have to lift it pretty high. Still very doable though and so worth the effort. Thanks so much for posting.

Thanks! I just started Musky fishing from my yak this year (Got my first 44" musky from a yak a couple weeks ago)... trying to sort out in my mind all the logistics of how you do it. Its quite an ordeal gettiing to the lake. I like how you show your rig with rods and all still on it. I need a yak setup that is "ready to go" for after work and on weekends. Probably with tackle boxes and all on it. I have been fishing out of my 14.5' tandem kayak for ages. Its heavily modified (looks legit and works great)... before all the fancy fishing kayak boats started coming to market. Problem is it takes forever to load, rig at the lake, etc.. I'm getting ready to make the plunge into a legit kayak to either trailer behind my big SUV or put in the bed of a truck that I'd have to get. This gives good perspective just looking at the deck of your boat. Wouldn't mind seeing set up and take down scenes if you ever had the time. Thanks!
@kristinefischer22895 жыл бұрын
You bet- I honesty keep most all of my gear in the boat. I can take down and get ready in less than 5 min! Rods stay in boat, soft plastics in boat, depth finder attached to boat. I just Basically load and unload my tackle crate

Thank you for making this video! I fish out of an Old Town Loon 106 Angler because it is light enough for me to load and unload car top by myself, but my ultimate dream is having a Hobie. I thought I would have to budget for a trailer and a vehicle to tow that trailer, but now I can ditch the trailer and just save up for the truck and the Hobie! :)

Good advice, Kristine... Especially if you have a truck. Me, being a "Macho-Guy" (at 6'4" & 210# Haha!), thought I could just "man-handle" my Titan. Wrong...! I finally invested in the Boonedox Wheel Set last year. What a difference a Wheel MAKES! (And, if I want to go back on-shore someplace, I can just "plug'em" back in and roll it out of the water - as I carry them with me all the time! Makes for good camping by the creek, knowing you don't have to leave your 'Yak in the water - or scuff-up the bottom on rocks!).

Where I live I’m surrounded by different body’s of lakes and rivers. I’ve thinking of getting a kayak because the Oklahoma-Texas red river is where they say you can catch trophy fish. But you should try southeastern waters out. Being able to pick your poison just making your mind up where and which waters you like to fish…
