Its really rare to see, in any kind of visual format, a use of the artifacts and blemishes that come with the early digital process like compression and artifacts and data moshing. Its aesthetic inclusion works so well into the narrative, and it’s rare people are able to do that without it seeming surface level. Once again hilarious and superbly engaging.

The fact that in the end he becomes what would be a commercial from 2007 that people only discover in this current time period as a meme, definitely a satire on modern internet humor, Hamood being there, the thing puking on him, the guy that yells and instantly dissapears.

Not sure if it's too early to theorize yet but I think the person reaching towards the computer in the fight against the giant is Hobo as a human. Every time he tries to break free from whatever insane cartoon world he's in, it looks like he's awaking more memories of whoever he was before he became Hobo. It seems like a running theme is a satire of internet/meme culture; the part where Hobo is assaulted by a bunch of different characters at once feels like a commentary on how quick culture comes and goes on the net, with the small yellow shirted kid being a reference to that one meme I can't remember the name of (the poorly animated one where the kid is singing some song in a foreign language). Red hat guy being there for a second before disappearing compounds how quickly the cultural focus switches.

Pleasantly surprised to see a nod to Hammoud Habibi, I suppose he fits perfectly into the Hobo universe
@avacesarski1822 жыл бұрын
OK so my theory is this: Hobo is an AI based on a copy of a real human's brain. The visons he gets are from when he was in the company before they scanned his brain. Evidence for this is that when the sunglasses emoji tells Hobo to think of something that calms him he can recall a new vision all by himself without the white silhouette man conjuring the vison. Also, this vison is obviously something from outside the world he experiences now, and it's calming. My man's is not from the world he's currently experiencing. The AI 'mascots' were created probably to make more engaging and easy content since it makes itself. He's either the most advanced of the bunch being their main mascot, OR other mascots are not also developed using brain scans, OR all the mascots are brain scanned AI and have simply been 'broken' by restrictions that force them to act in character, where Hobo is about to be broken. Belbo is aware of a 'real life' who he threatens the viewer. Probably because they forced him to dance and act in character when he probably used to have more agency, and maybe even memories of a 'real life'. The sunglasses emoji actually communicated a message within his built in restrictions sending us a message that the mascots are most definitely more than they appear or can even communicate.

Another theory is that hobo is a memory scan, and so was belbo. I had to remind myself that I was watching a concise video and not asleep. That's how good it is. The animation is awesome and the voice acting is so well done! Also what I can piece together in this story is that this a tragic story of the creator of the Hobo show and his struggle to get back on his feet after either loss or divorce as indicated by then moment of when we see a person looking at a picture that has a Mother, Father, and likely Son. It's likely that this is all a representation of the creator wanting deep down to get out, which is represented by our little protagonist "Hobo", and trying to fight his depression while still working on a cartoon that he likely is miserable making. The depression is likely represented by the giant static figure. In the end it seems that he wasn't able to get out of his state of mind and is probably either gone from this world or just still unable to bring himself to fix or get rid of his problems.

So the simulation Hobo is trapped in is the meme graveyard? That would explain why the characters are unable to think beyond doing two actions, the showrunners probably tried to give the AI stuff that's popular with the kids but simulations likely devolved into a repository of dead memes, and whatever happened to production must be tied to Hobo's real life person.

Man, just rewatched episode 2 and repostin what I wrote in there, is Belbo (and the other character) facing the same hell as Hobo at the ending of episode 4? doing the same silly commands on loop forever? Was Belbo actually giving a threat to someone at the beginning of episode 2 instead of just being "haha crazy"? Does he has a plan of escape and revenge? Also, looking at Belbo's video in the exta channel, it does seem like he can actually aim in screaming mode. Perhaps he didn't shot Hobo on acident/ glitch, but did it on purpose because he couldn't change his behaviour to comunicate with him? perhaps he was doing it with the intent of saving Hobo from the man by reseting his body to somewhere else?
