This is incredible! I never comment on videos, but if I comment on anything, it might as well be for this masterpiece of a planner and video. I like the: Consistency of the planner (I never knew that someone could have a beautiful spread for the whole year) Relatively concise speech (no rambling about irrelevancies) Good video planning (the video was never repetitive, and thus never let the audio get boring)

And the most functional planner i have ever seen on youtube. Most of youtuber's planners are full of stickers and washi tapes only. It's like they don't know what else to be written in the planner or simply don't have many activities but they have monthly, weekly, daily planners that need to be filled. So just add stickers all over the pages.

@@anna-4674 omg you've hit the nail on the head. The points you made are what frustrates me about a lot of planning videos. Especially adding things to make your life look more busy, whyyyyyyyy? I love how functional Lindsey's style and videos are!

I find it’s my handwriting that puts me off. I want to be proud of what I have done when I look back at what I have achieved over the year. Like yours. Maybe you could do a handwriting video? Also what to write in a journal. I have Dyslexia and I really criticise my work. I have just bought myself a Hobo . Wish me luck

good ideas! Best of luck. I have several not pretty spreads, hundreds of spelling mistakes, and mess ups throughout my pages too it happens to all of us!

Practice makes perfect unfortunately. I have ADHD and the associated learning difficulties with written word that come with it. My handwriting was always "chicken scratch" in school and had doctors handwriting (And still do unless I slow down). A lot of it comes down to practice and finding the right pen and nib size for your writing, slowing down and making sure your letters are consistently formed and sized and leaving enough space between words that you can read it when you come back to it. I apparently have "beautiful handwriting" but you wouldn't know it if I'm writing something in a rush haha

Maybe be proud of all the organising and documenting you do in your hobo? We all want things to look pretty but notice the imperfections but really I think the best part is the doing/documenting.
@poisonlady19655 жыл бұрын
It's okay for it not to be perfect. It's great for it to just be you. I mostly like my handwriting...sometimes. Sometimes it's cute and sometimes not so much. At times like that I try and add elements to hopefully help.

It took me a while to find planner peace. I used so many planners before I started looking at a hobonichi. I had a moleskin which I loved but not a lot of room to journal. Then bullet journaling, got bored with drawing spreads. Next a personal planner, which I did finish’s my very first planner that I did🎉 A travellers notebook came next and I was doing really well when I was using printed inserts. The problem came with I used a plane insert, I got bored 😏. This year was my first in a hobo. I love the planner so much. I have a cousin for everyday journaling and a weeks for my carry around. I also fell in love with my TN and blank inserts. I don’t journal in my TN every day, I use it for personal things. Next year is beyond a joke. I now have 5 journals/planners. I have tech, cousin and weeks hobos. I also have a passport TN along with my standard TN 🤦🏻♀️ I have found planner peace or I have a real problem 😏

Lindsey, I absolutely LOVE this. This is a fantastic video, I can’t wait for your next one! I’ve been loving your IG photos all year and had been curious about aspects of your system, and I think you explained everything I was ever wondering about 😁 One of the things I have been curious about was your pens. I do use a gel multi pen in .4, and while I love it, it’s exactly as you said about having to wait to highlight (plus occasional smearing 🙃). You’ve inspired me to give [my growing collection of] Hobo pens a try, so I really appreciate that tip! Thanks so much for sharing your system!! ❤️

I've enjoyed all of your videos! I do have a stupid question. Can you explain more about what "collections" are? :)
@lindseyscribbles5 жыл бұрын
It's a term I picked up from the Bullet Journal community, but basically a collection could be a page of information I need to reference or a 'collection' of to-do's for a bigger long term project. An example of something i'd refer to as a collection could be a page where I wrote down the Library's hours (so a page i'd reference) or maybe it's a specific list of to-do's for my sister's wedding that will take me a month or two to complete. Hopefully that helps!

I am so inspired to give hobonichi a try, but the initial setup costs are making me hold back. You have to order it from Japan and then there are the pens.

I'd check jetpens.com they usually have free/cheaper shipping in the US if you are interested! Most of the books come with a free uni jetstream (my fav hobonichi pen) but not totally sure if you receive that when you order from jetpens versus hobonichi1101. Either way, it's a spendy planner so I feel you there!

the_paradoxical_planner I would probably consider my Bullet Journal more of a true EDC. But when I travel for more than a couple days I will bring my Cousin with me. I prefer to write in my cousin with it laying on a desk since I’m a bit more fussy with the paper. But if I had to go to a meeting and needed to jot down notes I’d bring my bujo since I wouldn’t have to spend 15 mins exposing to someone why I’ve got a million stickers in my planner.
