@@billytanglewood5665 Explain how my review is "slanted". I'm very transparent in my testing and I do identical tests with every power station. I tell it like it is no matter the brand. I don't know how more "objective" a review could be.
@HOBOTECH2 жыл бұрын
@@billytanglewood5665 You must be new. I've been doing this amp noise test for nearly the past two years the exact same way for every inverter. All knobs set to max with nothing on the input. I'm not measuring the background HISS but the 60hz BUZZ. This BUZZ is generated by the inverter circuitry and has nothing to do with the amp or the settings. Noisy inverters pass this BUZZ through the amp. Some products produce this BUZZ and others don't. Try watching more of my reviews and see this very objective test over and over again. By the way, it's a Peavey amp not a Roland which makes it clear you're not even paying attention. Try again.

Well this convinced me to get one. Ive been eyeing the delta max for use in a garage with no power but couldn't stomach the $1800 all at once. I was able to stack your code with an amazon promotion which sealed the deal for me. Update after months of use: I have the delta 2 with the delta max extra battery being used in my garage. Overall I am extremely happy with my purchase. I added a shoulder strap to the delta 2 so I can carry both units at the same time. The delta 2 is capable of powering every load combination I have put on it without hesitation including: 8gal air compressor plus 300w of lights and fans Shop vac, orbital sander, and 300w of lights and fans 6" circular saw plus 300w of lights and fans The only thing I havent tried is my 110v welder which I feel confident it will power. Something I have not seen advertised anywhere is if you have the extra battery connected the unit will charge at up to 1500w. In my testing the unit is also capable of 2200-2300w for up to 30 seconds and 2000w for well over a minute. I am able to fit both the extra battery cable and a shorter ac charging cable in the compartment on the delta max extra battery. The fans are somewhat loud but really arent that bad, if the unit is in the next room charging I only hear it if I really listen for it and in my garage everything I hook up is much louder than the unit itself. I only have two minor complaints, one of which is when ac power is being fed in/out there is a very noticeable high pitched noise from the circuitry inside. It is not a big deal in my application but inside a house it could be rather annoying. The other complaint is that the cable to go between the delta 2 and extra battery is extremely stiff. Its not so bad when its warm out but if its cold at all the cable is horribly stiff to the point that it can be hard to plug into the units. The plugs also stick out really far from the side of the unit. It would be very nice to see a cable with 90 degree connectors on it and a more flexible jacket.

Note that the solar/car charge plug on the Delta 2 is not xt60 (2-pin) but xt60i (3-pin). To deal with the 15A car charge problem, they make use of the 3rd pin, even though there are only 2 wires. For the car charger, the 3rd pin is connected to + (flat side of the xt60i), and that is max at 8A input (according to the app). For solar, that 3rd pin is instead connected to the - (rounded side of the xt60i). And that allows for the max. 15A for solar charging. So if you are going to DIY a solar charging cable, make sure you get a xt60i female connector, and make a solder jump to the - terminal inside.

I attached 3 different computers (not all at once): an old Dell Inspiron laptop without the battery, Desktop computer & Raspberry Pi 4B. I had a lamp attached to see how fast the switching was. There was a visible flicker on the lamp but it was very fast. None of the computers or monitors hiccuped at all. Its like the power wasn’t cut. Also, the oscilloscope does flicker some.

Buying two Delta2’s won’t give you 2 x 1000Wh (or rater 2 x 800Wh) - unless you have an extra unit to join them - have a feeling that the sinus waves have to be in phase before you put them in parallel.. So I see the idea about the cheap battery, And I can easily add a charger on an extension cord if I need more chargers. I hope to pick one up tomorrow for a semi-permanent back-up for our refrigerator- but real role will be to charge at cheap rates between 02:00 and 04:00 at night and run air fryer, toaster, other power hungry appliances at ‘rush hour’ where KWh prices are 2-4 times as much as at 02:00

It's a bit disappointing that EcoFlow seems to have cut corners on this. The main reason that stopped me from buying an Ecoflow Delta previously was the fact that they didn't use LiFePO4 batteries, so I was very excited to hear about this. But the low efficiency and the terrible UPS function is a huge letdown. I hope a firmware update takes care of those issues because otherwise this would be a fantastic product.

@saintkamus142 жыл бұрын
@@fongsa1yuk it's the same delay. You have to keep in mind the load... he's using a 1,200+W heater, which is the worse case scenario. Another thing to keep in mind is the load of your computer... Are you just doing light browsing when the power goes out? Then your power supplies' capacitors should have no trouble bailing you out. But if you're running a heavy load (like an AAA game on your high end video card) then there's a good chance you'll run out of capacitance, and the computer could shut down, or glitch out.

I bought a delta 2 a month ago and was considering using it as a ups. After watching the video, I was curious if the ups function had improved with the latest firmware update. I updated the delta 2 to the latest firmware via the app ( V1.0.1.134) . To test the cutover, I used an old dell laptop (latitude e6530 with nvdia gpu) which has an external removable battery. Laptop uses about 30w-40w while running. I plugged and unplugged the ac power to the delta 2 multiple times (with the laptop battery removed). The laptop continued playing the video I was testing with no drops or flickers. Also ran a cpu stress test using CPu-z and re-ran the ac cutover. Laptop ran with no issues while on the delta 2. Bluetti180 and 200l were the other two I was considering. Also purchased the delta 2 max and expansion battery (qvc had a great sale for the expansion battery at $799 a few week ago). Hobotech just wanted to thank you for your detailed videos. I watched several of them before jumping into purchasing.

Can you do a review on the Anker 757 power station, I've watched dozens of other reviews on the 757 and they are all trash, I guess if you are receiving a product free of charge you don't want to say anything negative.
@worldcomicsreview3542 жыл бұрын
I've got a smaller Anker (somewhat confusing product range, and some different products seem to have the same number, it's 262-ish wh with a 300w inverter. There's a "plus" version with something like 250wh and a 350w inverter, and it's a bit bluer). It's robustly built and has a nice diffuse light on the back. Only has an 8mm / USB-C bidirectional port for charging, though. The next model up with a 500w inverter has an Anderson port. So I imagine their top model will be decently put together as well. Also Anker's Solarsaga60 panel is absolute crap. I bought a cheapo LVYuan 120w suitcase that charges it better than Anker's own panel. Also the LVYuan outputs from it's (hard-wired, another plus) 8mm and USB-C at the same time, so you can plug both into the Anker at once for combined charging, theoretically up to the full 120 (though apparently the LVYuan USB-C only puts out 40w), but the most I've ever got is 55w, but my panel is very badly-placed and pretty much never gets full sun on all of it at once.
@TumnusMr2 жыл бұрын
Would be nice to see a preview of the Anker 767 too. The 757 has been out a while now and there are several favorable reviews on it. The main negative I see on that is the limited solar input of 300W. It would be hard hitting that as the input is limited to 30V and 10A. I know of no single 300W portable panel that would work (the Dokio one is 18V at 15A or thereabouts.) Panels in series would not work as most are 18V+ and there are few 30V 3.3A panels for parallel connections. In fact I think Anker’s own (pricey) 100W panels might be the only ones. This Delta 2 has a similarly disappointing solar input at 500W considering it has an 1800W inverter and up to 3KWh capacity. The Delta 2 efficiency is also low considering Ecoflow’s track record. The Anker 767 uses GaN power switching so it would be interesting to see what efficiency it has.

I have the Ecoflow Delta 1300 and its a great power source. The only thing that I do not like after owning it for a while is the location of all the ports. USB on front with display. 12volt and 110 on the rear. And charging on the side. All that makes it sort of a PITA to use in small spaces. Good review, EXCEPT... Ecoflow states in all their manuals that these units(ALL of them) are NOT UPS's. They are EPS's, which means that they will switch over to battery power- with a delay of about 30ms; what I will do is put an actual REAL UPS between the computer and the generator. That way you get the best of both worlds; pass-through power with the generator, lots of backup power for the computer, and instantaneous switching for your computer. Bulletproof. Keep up the good work!

The slow EPS feature is a little too bad, but it's really not that big of a deal. If you really need fast switching, you could always couple it with a real UPS, even a cheap one, and it would be more than enough to fill in the gap.

Another great review! I was VERY disappointed with the UPS test results. 😵💫 My plan for the Delta 2 was for a UPS backup system for my Starlink internet and 2 computers. The Delta 2 is just not gonna work for us.

Does the Delta Pro battery work with the Delta 2 using the adapter? Does it charge from the EcoFlow Generator as well? Does the extra battery charge from the generator and Delta Pro Extra Battery as well? I agree with your beef about the Delta Pro Extra Battery and Delta 2 extra battery having to charge from the main device.

Honestly longevity is not really a big deal since technology evolves so quickly that today's portable power systems will be well surpassed in performance long before their "life" ends. I am excited to see what's comes out in the years ahead.

It is for doomsday preppers, who are one of the groups of folks buying these. It would just be unfortunate if every manufacturer went to these types of cells, it's nice for different types of consumers to choose what best suits their intended use.

Them doomsday preppers…. They obviously have all the answers, so where is their perfect product? Produce them! - they want the highest standards, and know what they need, no this not dissing on them, seriously, they need to put their money together and produce the finest end all (no pun) power supplies etc… and then make tons of money…as for this set up, I am good with it, hopefully the D2v2 will be better. (And I am serious some DDPrepper needs to start a fund me page with their designs!

I would agree to an extent. Longevity is perceived as more important on the higher priced units.

If you plugged in a small UPS to the Delta 2 and lost power to the Delta 2 the UPS should smooth out the power outage and let the Delta 2 take over effectively expanding the run time of the small UPS to over 1KW .

What should I buy now? River 2 pro or delta 2?

You can actually charge a smart extra battery thru the Ecoflow Wave. I have a Ecoflow Delta Max Smart Extra battery and I charge my battery with my Wave. Charging the smart extra battery with the Wave works pretty much the same way as the add-on battery for the wave. It will generally charge the smart extra battery at about 600 watts with the Wave plugged into AC. Downside is that it does take a bit longer to charge since you are charging at a lower rate then using a power station. I found it take about three hours to charge the Delta Max Smart extra battery from zero to 100%.

Warning for solar users: the Delta 2 cannot charge by solar when the input wattage is not enough. The exact threshold is not clearly defined by the manufacturer but I’ve read about users being unable to charge when solar power is under 20-30 watts; input on Delta 2 will just read 0 watt. This is a problem for users who wish to trickle charge by small solar systems in cloudy or rainy conditions.

Good review 👍 was very tempted to purchase this but at £1099 here in the UK without any discounts available I'll wait until it goes on sale or just go for the Bluetti range. Lack of inputs on the additional battery packs really sucks!!!
@constantlyevolving69672 жыл бұрын
Completely agree. I'm also looking for a mid-range as I already have Bluetti EB240 and am not paying the UK price for this. If no discounts arrive soon I might stick with Bluetti too.

I'm still glad I ordered the Jackery 1000 Pro. It has a Lot of good features and is quiet. My Jackery 500 has served me well so why change solar generators in mid stream.

Meanwhile I am a bit in doubt about the fan-noise. When running on or charging the battery I am fine with the fan-noise, when running on AC(in) it shows this does not have a transfer switch but does AC->DC->AC. Which not only is noisy but also inefficient. That is why I installed a real transfer switch at home which uses the Delta 2 as generator in case the grid goes down. This allows me to disconnect the AC-in from the Delta 2, saving an immediate 14 watt. The Delta now is trickle charge from solar to keep it charged. As my grid is rather stable I also turned of AC-out of the Delta 2. I can always turn it on when grid goes down as long as I am home or can connect via the app. That is good enough for me. Regarding EPS, yep, one needs to use a real UPS to keep computers or internet modems running. Connect the UPS into the Delta to have a long term UPS solution. External battery......... the original EF-1500 was and is perfect. They should return to that idea. Having it's own xt60 port, USB-ports and 24 volt terminals........ It is wonderfull

I'm wanting to run a 24v DC portable Enjoy Cool air conditioner. Is there voltage on the side port? Is there a way to hack the 24v side port on the Delta 2 to work as an output for my non ecoflow wave AC?
@mattgilmore Жыл бұрын
Do you think it would be possible to run from the DC output (cigarette style) to the terminals of a deep cycle 12v battery to charge the deep cycle battery? Thinking of using this to re-charge house batteries.

And thank you for the informative review. I actually bought a Delta 2 today and had the same questions, the most relevant being which was which input gets priority when you charge via solar or AC. In South Africa, with our power problems we would actually prefer to have a choice. But I’m hoping they ‘EcoFlow’ have considered it. Will find out this weekend when it’s delivered but I’m hoping it can let you prioritise solar and then AC. Otherwise I’ll have to write to them. Thanks though! Keep up the great work!

I have one shot to get a generator for my home/future Van build and I'm so confused. I don't which Eco to get or the Bluetti AC200MAX. Im completely lost with all the different options. Begging for help!

Pretty sure I have the same laptop. 2005 Dell Inspiron. It was a great machine. I've got a MacBook now because the customer service was better. But this puppy is 8 or 9 yrs old. Don't know what I'll get next. Suggestions?

Love your reviews Hobotech. Was wondering why you have never reviewed the Delta max 1600/2000. Maybe I missed it somewhere but I searched your channel and nothing comes up. I like the Delta 2 but it is little too under powered for my needs. I like the Pecron e2000lfp but I am a little concerned about the company and dealing with any issues that may arose. I've seen some reviews where people are still waiting for a refund a month after the product was returned. Also read something about there is no way to put the unit output on standby so the battery will drain in a couple of weeks with no use. Thank you for all your time and effort.

Great review on the D2. Thanks for being so thorough. The slow UPS switching is disappointing but it could be fine for applications that don't freak out if power dips for a second. I'll have to think on it a little to see if it is a good fit. Love the Joe Sparks Devil Doll in the back!

I’m trying to think of a reason to buy one of these. I have a 13k backup generator so I think this would just sit in my closet maybe when the price comes down.

I bought my Delta Max for emergency backup power when the grid power goes down, which it does around here sometimes. If I wanted a UPS, I would have bought something different. I think we've gotten so used to phones and other devices doing multiple jobs, we have forgotten that some devices are really good at a FEW things, instead of doing everything. I also own a laptop with a decent battery. If I saw the battery power was down to a point where it needed a charge, I would do it before a UPS was necessary. As far as loud, it's WAY quieter than my gas powered genny.

I"m looking for a LiFeP04 portable power station 1000-1800wh for car (tiny SUV) living with 12v fridge. Appreciate your review immensely, especially about noise level, UPS issue w/ laptop, and issues with using car charging (firmware update needed to lower voltage). I would otherwise buy it in a minute. Fingers crossed that Bluetti comes out with a new model between EB70 & AC200!!

Im sure that the production ups will be faster.....but I dont need it to be fast. I am using it to power my deep freezer and refrigerator in my garage. Use grid and then switch over to battery when the power goes out. I got it for $899 and the extra battery was on sale for $699. I already have my 600 watts of solar set up...40 volts at 15 amps.....just waiting for delivery. I am replacing my duracell powersource with ups that has failed 3 times with bad inverters. I have my Bluetti eb3a for fast ups anyway.
