THANKS BRO APPRECIATE YOU WATCHING IT. And yes there are assists for tries and shaun johnson had the most try assists last year in the 2023 season with 32 try assists
@gearoidosullivan3569 ай бұрын
Really enjoyed that vid and your reaction. From what little I know, Shaun Johnson really looked up to Benji Marshall and you can see the similarities in their games. Johnson looks like he has far superior speed, while Benji probably had more of an all round game. But both are a joy to watch.

Shaun Johnson's career was marked by two serious ankle injuries while he was in his prime years. After that he was never the same. Often you couldn't notice him on the field. Last season was one of his better seasons though.

coming second for Dally M by 1 point is more than just one of his better Seasons. He lead in try assists, kicking meters, line break assists.

You hit the nail on the head regarding assists. Last year Shaun Johnson topped Try Assists, Line Break Involvements, Kick Metres, All Kicks and Attacking Kicks. He missed out on the Dally M award by 1 point to Kalyn Ponga. He doesn’t do much stepping or score long range tries anymore but he’s a great playmaker. The New Zealand Warriors could be contenders this year but they’ve started 0-2 so they need to start winning.

and they have won, now they are 1-2 and very telling their points difference is 0, they lost their two games only by 4 points and the game vs the Storm one of the competition leaders away they were leading at the buzzer but lost to a last second try in the corner.

the three guys he ran down from behind where all known for their out and out speed, and its super impressive how far Shuan Johnson was to them and he still caught them. Hes lost his speed due to injury but is still one of the best players in the NRL and won the best halfback in the nrl for 2023 and came second for what is the MVP by 1 point.

@9:00 yes there is stats for assists. They are split into ‘Try Assists’ and ‘Line Break Assists’… Shaun Johnson is a pro at putting guys into defensive holes and leads the league in line break assists almost every year
@dcbbot9 ай бұрын
Yes, most league stats will include try assists, and now line break assists too. I Think Johnson led the NRL for try assists last year. As for positions, quaterback is a good call, but the position most similar to halfback in union is fly-half/fist-five. The hooker in league is most like a union scruim half. The warriors have a shot this year, especially with Penrith continuing to bleed players. But it should be quite competitive in the top 4-6 this year.

The truth is... the Vodafone Warriors have made it to the finals a couple/few times but they haven't won.

There’s no Shaun Johnson without Benji, make sure you watch the vid with 430k views.
I wouldn't completely agree with that statement , I played junior rugby league with from 6years old and watched his career not just rugby league,everything he picked up he athletically he excelled in,Benji would of been a big inspiration to him,but he definitely didn't style himself off Benji, he had that right foot step even at 6-7years old(maybe not as good,but enough to fool other 6-7year olds), he won all the inter school cross countries every year,he was a sponsored skater,and one of the best in the country at that time, but his exceptional stepping and acceleration was developed playing touch(much like benji),everyone who saw him knew he was a pretty special kid,and what ever he ended up doing he would be great

McDavid for a current player that is dominating. Ovechkin, Crosby, Datsyuk, Kane, are other good ones.

When you look at the Melbourne Storm last twenty five years dominating the NRL compared to the warriors that came before the Storm! The warriors have nothing to show! The Storm have only missed the finals 3 time's in twenty five years! The best professional sporting club in the world of any professional sporting club!

halfback and hooker in rugby league are equivalent to first five-eighth and halfback/scrum half in union respectively

If you Want to know what the Goose Step is in Rugby Looks up David Campese and Waisale Serevi. Yeah Rugby League Refs have to be fit, you do not see any fat ones at the top level. Unlike some NFL refs................
