I’m was in LAX waiting for a flight back to Canada listening to this game through my headphones. As a South African pacing up and down the airport it wasn’t a good look. I was stressed to max and nearly cried when we won.

History gives us a natural will to beat the English or almost die trying. Rugby is combat. History matters. The Boks "went into lager" and refused to submit. It was their "Spion Kop", in my op.

Try and get your hands on Chasing the Sun 2. It is a documentary of the behind the scenes of the Springboks rugby world cup in a similar way to how Drive to Survive is done with F1. A new episode is released every Sunday evening, the 2 first episodes are currently available. Love from South Africa

Funny was just re-watching this game last night while doing some Photoshop stuff, Even though I know how it ends, this game still makes me anxious... The 1 point trilogy aged me 10 years...

The bomb squad are the high impact players...the players said if you were picked for starting line up, the other guys said sorry to hear that. Meaning the bomb squad were perceived as the secret weapons.

Yay another springbok video! Eamon you are a very cool guy. One video you MUST watch is the coach Rassie Erasmus touching story about Makazole Mapimpi 🥲. Mapimpi is the guy who got a bad facial fracture during the world cup so that's why he's not in the last games. I don't know but I cry every single time when Rassie talks about Makazole Mapimpi. It's beautiful

There's something to the idea that England's entire preparation was based around this one game. They won all their pool games, but they had a fairly easy pool, with only Argentina being serious competition, and every team they played managed to put on respectable scores. I was fully expecting Fiji to knock them out in the quarter, and I still think that could have happened if it wasn't for Fiji losing focus and playing so much worse in their last two matches (two deaths in the family during the world cup). Massive respect to England for working out how to beat the Springboks - it damn near worked.

As a South African...i don't know how we won the 2023 World Cup. I thought that our team was weaker than the 2019 team yet we still dominated and got lucky a few times.
@thenomad477 ай бұрын
We quite literally just had better team depth, and straight up just wanted it more than literally anyone else in the Tournament.

As an 'unbiased' observer, if you're looking for a current England player to look I'd suggest Itoje. It would be a bit of a change of pace for you because he is a forward.

Courtney Lawes is an amazing English player.

It would definitely be cool to see you check out more world cup matches. Copyright can be an issue for big games though. If you do end up checking them out, maybe make 2 videos (one for each half) and lower the frame rate / make a slideshow of stills, on the parts of the video that trigger copyright , that way you can keep it in without having to remove it for 30 seconds. You can also overlay a half opacity image on top of some of the footage to help avoid copyright triggers
@EamonnReacts7 ай бұрын
Yeah honestly everything I've tried seems to trigger the copyright. Even Squidges videos here I had to cut some parts out despite him just using cut up stills. Really unfortunate.

Courtney Lawes from England just retired from international rugby and he's been great for over a decade. You should check him out.

Hey Eamon I think you are doing quite well in learning the rules of the game, but this game can get a bit complicated. I have been following rugby for over 20 years and I'm not even sure when it comes to certain rules, and soon world rugby is going to change the rules again, but fear not you know the basics and your knowledge of the game will improve as you watch more games.

This shows how close many of these teams are … a point difference… England definitely could’ve done it Have to say…am no fan of Rassie using replacements for wasting time and running down energy
@douglasreed0077 ай бұрын
Busy reading Rassie's biography. Interesting to see what forged him into the person and coach he is. The one clear thing is he has enormous mental strength and a big match temperament. Maybe open up your other eye and you will see a lot of teams slow the game down especially teams playing against us, they resort to a lot of the tactics that SA are criticised for. In any event, our game will continue evolving and don't expect the same tactics at the next World Cup.
@HeeniKeke7 ай бұрын
@@douglasreed007 I’m a great fan of some of what rassie does….however….as a rugby lover, I choose to watch actual rugby rather than seeing a coach use putting subs on and off to wear down some time to gain advantage. And yes, other coaches do this, but not to extent rassie uses it

Sorry, let me rephrase, when I was watching the video, I noticed a few times, that you would speak while the video was playing, and at certain times, when you did do that, there was some key information that you might have missed, it would be great if at moments like that, you could pause and rewind like 5 seconds, but other than that, the way you articulate yourself, and the calmness of your presence and tone, honesty, no pride in your videos, and the wittiness we notice as you ponder and figure things out quicker than an average person I think would, is one of the key things to why your channel is growing......really well ✅,
