Thanks alot for the video and all your others. Super helpful for ordering online.

I agree about the palms. You almost have to order custom to get a pro palm or you will get stingers all the time.

Or a practice palm depending on your level

One thing that I find about certain brands of gloves is depending on the shape of your hand. However Vaughn isn’t consistent with their gloves. I haven’t had a protection issues yet. Another great review Matt.

Just custom ordered the V9 pro carbon, had problems with vaughn in the past lots of stingers and a folded in t spine. If anyone does think about ordering one go with the pro plan and stiffen both parts of the t spine.

The only glove I could barely wear from Vaughn was the T5500. My hands were swimming inside everything else. I have no idea what they do but I felt like most Vaughn catchers were designed for ManHands of Seinfeld.

Playing highschool this year and i get stingers all the time with my v7 and the palm is so bad, I wanna upgrade but from the looks of the video nothing has changed with the base glove, interested to try the xp though

Ccm premier feels like the v7 pro xr but better. I’d give that a try. They’re hard to come by new but used will have plenty

How do these compare to the slr ventus glove?

I agree, I had a v7 xf game ready, to many stingers and pop outs with that break for me. But I’m more 590 guy.

This may be in unusual question, I play on a blind hockey team, the puck we use is considerably larger than a standard puck. In your opinion what is the largest glove on the market?
@HockeyReviews3 жыл бұрын
Brown and Kenesky can make bigger than NHL spec gloves which would be bigger than anything retail. Retail gloves have to confirm to a max perimeter size so they are all roughly the same

Beefed up xp with pro palm or hyperlite? I’m a 590 guy. XP felt comfortable in store but they didn’t have the hyperlite

Unfortunately I haven't been able to take a look an an XP with a pro palm. I got to see an SLR 3 stock (which comes with pro palm stock now) and it felt really solid to me. But whether it translates 1-1 I am not sure sorry.

Just curious, it appears that the v9 xp has a small pocket? Thoughts?
@HockeyReviews3 жыл бұрын
I never noticed anything when wearing the VE8 XP. It might be smaller than other designs but if it didn't negatively affect my catching it doesn't matter to me. I caught well with the older one so 🤷♂️

Hey, does the v9 xp pro/pro carbon feel like the ve8 xp pro/pro carbon??

Yeah, it is basically the same for the XP models.

The V9 Pro Senior is a 50 degree break. The V9 XP is a 60 degree break.

Vaughn doesn't even list their break angles. I asked them and they do it so people don't get hung up on what they are and instead go by feel. According to Vaughn the V9 is hand squeeze closure. The V9 XP is fingertip closure.

@@HockeyReviews OK. The hockeyshop.com lists all the angles for all the gloves they sell. They do a solid job on their reviews.

After I had a Vaughn Epic 8800, I have never gone back to Vaughn. By far the worse performing glove I have ever used.

@@HockeyReviews Honestly I can't remember a specific thing since it was about 15 years ago other than it was stiff and I couldn't catch pucks for the life of me. I never felt comfortable wearing it. Maybe once it was broken in it would have been fine, but after about 3 months I just had to sell them.
