You should have seen the excersizes and drills my dad came up with and had me and my brother in thought the 90s and early 00s. It was absolutely nuts but I am forever grateful to him. He got me all those points I had. If you have an inbox I could send them too you. My dad probably like a lot of our dad's was a mad scientist genius. He created excersizes,that related to game play. He built a stride practice board for us to practice our stride on with our socks. And if we weren't using our small weight system we had in the basement, he had us on a hard excersize bike routine and right next to that he had a squat rack in the living room so if we were watching the game we we're constantly squatting and riding the bike. It was so perfect. Thank you dad for all that dedication and thank you for creating strong disciplined players

So this dad is obviously calling anyone & everyone who is willing to put a spotlight on his kid. Roman's skating is not shocking, but it's very good, and you can tell he's spent a lot of time on the ice. Any kid who has been doing years of power skating, like him, is capable of doing these drills. I wish him luck in the future, and I'm hoping his dad lays off the pressure as the gap starts to close when he gets older. At novice, it's easy for good skaters to dominate. Bantam is when things really change.
@andrewl.33824 жыл бұрын
Agreed. If his dad wants him to be NHL caliber, he's gotta let Roman find his passion for hockey.
@hockeytraining4 жыл бұрын
Brittany France we reached out to ask if Roman would want to be in a video. There was no pressure put on Roman and it’s very clear from spending on a few hours with him that he absolutely loves hockey. I get where you’re coming from though.

True! My kid is an 09 too. He asked to play hockey when he was 7 years old, in 4 years he made it to the top division for his age. And last 8 months we been taking him to all kind power skating camps and i see so many phenomenal kids that are not only as good but even much better than this kid, but they are also a foot taller and bigger. at 13 the hitting starts, that's when small kids start to suffer, and this kid is tiny

For 10 years old figure skates is this nothing special, they can do this even with closed eyes even midnight..everithing what he wants from him is easy.. 💪🕺🏼Keep skating... And stay healthy, strong 👍🏻

@jonharris34764 жыл бұрын
Powerful skating basics are the foundation of elite hockey skills and figure skating. It looks like you're diminishing hockey skating. Steve does a great job bringing his technique back to foundational skills like a strong stance. I wonder what figure skating competitions would look like if 10 skaters were on the ice trying to perform their routines at the same time and they could only score points if they performed their judged elements in or near the hockey creases. Heck let's add body contact so you score points at one crease and defend the other... No doubt figure skaters require excellent fundamental skating, but, let's not diminish a kids excellent hockey skating.
