Getting your house paid off is key. If you don't have your house paid off and debts cleared out, then keep working.
@froberson412 ай бұрын
So true we have to live life as we age cause life is to short. When you’re working its best to try to pay off any debt as fast as you can. I know when I was in my 20’s I just wanted to buy the next brand of clothing or handbag. As I got older all that materialistic stuff got old. And when my dad passed away 9 years ago at the age of 66 he really didn’t enjoy being retired and living life with my mom. That really made me think to get my butt in gear and start saving a lot more. So I can retire when it’s time and just live life with no struggles It’s never to late👍🏽

I will miss beautiful good heart Hoda, she is such a joy to see every morning, off topic I retired at age 48 so I am in my late 50s. Many of them resisted me because they couldn't understand the idea of not working if it wasn't necessary. I considered the phases of my life. I worked very hard to achieve what I have now, but in my last years, I owe it to myself to "stop and smell the roses." In my instance, I departed the nation after retiring and currently reside in Latin America. It made it possible for me to appreciate my new surroundings while escaping all the bad things that were going on in America. Nobody that I know of regrets retiring has yet to come to me.

Nice way to retire. For me, I believe retirees who struggle to meet their basic needs are the ones who could not accumulate enough money during their active years to meet their needs. Retirement choices determine a lot of things. My wife and I both spent same number of years in the civil service, she invested through a wealth manager and myself through the 401k. We both still earning after our retirement fund has grown way more than it would have with just the 401(k). Haha.
@ryanthompson82562 ай бұрын
She made her millions. Now it's time to go spend/inves t them. It's unfortunate most people don't have such information. I don't really blame people who panic. Lack of information can be a big hurdle. I've been making more than a million dollars by just investing through an advisor, and I don't have to do much work. Doesn't matter if the economy is misbehaving; great wealth managers will always make returns.

Good for you Hoda! I retired in 2018 at 60. I had the feeling it was time. I had given 40 yrs of service to others, and knew I was still young enough to enjoy my life, and it was finally time to give myself service of what I knew I deserved. So glad I did because it was right before Covid. I lost my closest sister of 3 in 2021. I lost my only child a son 47 yrs old from a form of Cancer. My brother died in 2023, and and a niece the same year. While my grief has been overwhelming during this time, I am so thankful to God for giving me that time to grieve the way I definitely needed. Sometimes we have to look deep for the blessings, and when we look deep, we will always see a silver lining in every experience in life. I am a Christian and my faith is strong knowing I will see my beautiful son and family in the new world ahead. John 5:28,29. Congratulations to you, your beautiful daughters and family. Hope you all can spend a long and loving life together as one chapter closes, and the start of a new one in this thing called Life. ❤🎉

I wish you well, Honda! You’re a very strong woman and an inspiration. I was in a very comfortable job that I loved and then my boss passed away. I was 65 and not ready to retire. What has happened afterwards has been magical. I have a new job that I love and I have more time to spend with family. 🥰

Good for you Hoda! The same thing happened to me....I had a "what are you doing" moment and decided to retire this June 2024at 69!!! I absolutely love the new pace now. I love taking time for myself and family. You're right, we're only here for a minute. Enjoy your children. Enjoy your life. God's peace and blessings to you.
