I woke up one morning feeling the same pain I thought it was my heart, so I went to the ER and it was acid reflux. Acid reflux can cause pain in the esophagus just behind the breastbone and can be mistaken for a heart attack. Is best to get checked out.

I am a very lucky person. I was sitting at home watching something on KZbin and petting my cat and all of a sudden I felt this pain like a serrated knife in the middle of my chest. I am usually diligent about my heart, but life got in the way and it had been 3 years since my last stress test. I told my Son that I was going into the hospital to get it checked out and it’s a good thing I did. My main artery was 90% blocked. I like Susan Lucci had what they called a Widow Maker blockage. I can’t stress enough how important it is to have a stress test and if you have pain or an uncomfortable feeling get it checked out! You will be doing yourself a big favor and Your Family will be grateful as well! ❤❤

Same thing happened to me. Had some symptoms, but ignored them because I was busy. Then one day I ended up with heartburn that went up in my throat and pain around to my back. Drove myself to the hospital. The ER Doctor said you are having a heart attack. One artery was 99% blocked. So sorry for the loss of your husband.

She's such a beautiful soul. I appreciate her speaking out and encouraging women to LISTEN to their bodies. She's absolutely right that women have totally different symptoms of an impending heart attack than men do. I've personally experienced the same exact heart event that she had - 98% blockage in the "widow maker" artery. I couldn't seem to take a full, deep breath (which I attributed to a case of bronchitis I had just gotten over), felt a little tired, and had very bad heartburn. The "heartburn" became so bad that I actually drove myself to the hospital thinking I was having a gall bladder attack. When things in the ER shifted quickly and they said they were sending me to the heart cath lab, I even ARGUED with them that it was my gall bladder! There was no crushing weight on my chest, no pain shooting down my left arm like they tell you. I never thought it was my heart. I thank God every day for the doctor on duty that night - he saved my life! I was a ticking time bomb without even realizing it.

I remember watching All My Children with my grandmother when it FIRST aired, in black and white! Of course I remember a teen-aged Susan Lucci and have admired her immensely for decades. A very close and dear family friend, an "Honorary Uncle" Jimmy McDonough was the Property Master for All My Children for years (Susan would probably remember him; he was so full of life!) and he told us that of all the stars he worked with in his long career on TV and in the theatre, Susan Lucci was at the top of his list as being a truly kind and authentic lady, and he never saw her behaving any other way! I'm glad she's staying on top of her health, and send my condolences to her and her children for the loss of her adoring and adored husband, Helmut...

It's a sin that ABC axed the show. So many of the actors have since passed. All the sets were destroyed. Just the thought makes me sad. Susan is ever lovely. I am also a survivor of a Widower maker heart attack. Ladies, do not ignore the symptoms like I did. Like her, I felt a heavy weight on my chest but most of my pain was under my right shoulder blade. Thankfully I am ok but I first chucked my symptoms off to a muscle spasm. It’s best to get checked out to be sure.
