Hi John. I cannot understand why there is an additional bottom pair of tracks. It's possible to move the L and R of the file to either the top section or the bottom section. I have searched the Hofa manual but cannot find any reference to this. In the video, you imported your audio tracks to the top pair but it's also possible to put them in the bottom. Help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It's just so you can overlap and arrange the audio files to play a certain way. It's not something I've used because I get everything ready in reaper and just do the ddp in HOFA.

Great, thanks. I do the same myself so I will probably never use it either.

How were you able to drag those clips without the gaps automatically showing up? Thanks for any info

there's a menu option for default gap size. mine is on zero

Hi John I just wanted to ask you, if you can see the CD-texte and metadata info when the cd is mounted without any internet connection ? Is the operating system recognize this data off line ?
@TheREAPERBlog8 жыл бұрын
some rare standalone CD players can and a computer can however most (all?) media players don't use the information off the disc. On OSX you can verify the CD Text by using Terminal and type drutil cdtext or, to verify the ISRC codes, type drutil subchannel

Hello Again, Another question I have if it's something you can and are willing to share, what is your process when sending the DDPi to the manufacturer to be pressed? I've read a few forums on the matter but they seem a bit confusing to me with all the different special recommendations of how companies are sending them. Or, is this something you can make a video about in greater detail so you won't have to type all of that out if it is too much. Thanks again for any information given, it's all much appreciated!

I put it in a zip and give it to the client. I'm not involved past that.

Hey, when you said that you numbered them based on the region numbers and then you also stated "like in the last tutorial," what tutorial was that exactly so that I can go back and watch it? I just want to catch up to speed on this new material (well new to me I should say.) Also, thanks for providing us with such great knowledge, it's very much appreciated!

Hello! I'm looking at possible distribution and synchronization for my masters... I'm new to the world of DDP. I noticed that the tracks you imported into HOFA had pre-determined ISRC numbers. To my understanding this # identifies the author / origin of the track. Firstly, Is the ISRC number obtained through copyright? Secondly, I'm assuming that you're at the tail end of the processing chain here- organizing the final masters for a client by generating red book data. How close am I? Thanks :)
@TheREAPERBlog8 жыл бұрын
Hi John The ISRC for this project was provided by the client. USA Registration www.usisrc.org/applications/question/1 Canada Registration connectmusic.ca/isrc/isrc-application-form.aspx I delivered a zipped DDP that they gave to the CD Replicator.

I assume the pregap at index 0 is automatically added for you? I don't see a way to add it. I used their DDP player to burn the CD and it played as desired so I assume this is correct(I used HOFA DDP to create the DDP)
@TheREAPERBlog7 жыл бұрын
I assume so. I use this app so I don't have to think about those things.

How do I change the overall level of the tracks and how do I edit the space between tracks? Thank you!
@TheREAPERBlog10 жыл бұрын
Good questions There's a horizontal line across each audio file at the bottom. You can drag it up or down to change levels. Space between can be edited as text in the top area or by dragging the audio files at the bottom. There's also a preference to set the default gap length.
@lenaprima10 жыл бұрын
Thanks for replying I appreciate it..it looks like I have to do all this before putting all the text in, is that correct?
@TheREAPERBlog10 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure if you have to but that's how I'd approach it. I get all the timing and levels right when I export the audio from reaper, so I set the gaps to 0, import, then do the meta data.

Thank you, I am uploading to the manufacturing site now…hopefully I did it right!

I'm sorry but I'm new to this process. But what is DDP?
@TheREAPERBlog6 жыл бұрын
its a file you can send online to a duplication facility to press the physical disc. It's more secure than burning a disc and mailing.

In my personal opinion this must be the most backward mastering and burn app I've ever witnessed. Absolutely useless in all situations and aspects I can think of, except playback. Very unstable and therefor utterly unreliable. Not very well thought out shortcuts and erratic behavior, make working with this app an experience of misery. I will never advise anybody to by this nonsense it's a waste of time and money.
