Small correction: with the M16A2/4 trigger group burst will fire not 3 rounds, but up to 3 rounds. It is also doesn't reset, so if you let go mid burst, the next burst will be the reminder to 3 (assuming you have enough ammo left). Yes, there are other firearm with trigger groups which reset if you let go mid burst (I think HK MP5) and there are also trigger groups which "count" in semi auto so first burst is basically random.

Semi-auto fires once for every function of the trigger, not every time you pull it. If that was true, that would make make forced reset triggers illegal. But the law says the weapon fires once for every function of the trigger, so compressing and releasing are two functions and allows you to fire very fast.
@danrosenthal923117 күн бұрын
You're thinking of binary triggers, not forced reset triggers. A forced reset trigger fires once for every pull, and does not fire again until after the reset. If you fire 30 rounds, you'll have 30 trigger pulls and 30 resets. It's binary triggers that fire both on the pull and the release (30 rounds, 15 pulls, 15 releases).
@No-One-of-Consequence16 күн бұрын
@@danrosenthal9231 I guess that is true. I wasn't really thinking about that. I have used an FRT but never a binary trigger. But my point remains, there is a distinction between "Every time you pull the trigger" and "every function of the trigger" and that distinction has been upheld by the courts, so you can have a rifle that fires just as fast as some machine guns, but which is still legally semi-automatic and requires no special licensing. And the gungrabbers fucking hate that.

What would cause the BCG to get hung up inside the buffer tube? After installing the safety charging the rifle get the bcg stuck at the rear of its travel. I tried a bear creek side charging upper and it would not even let the bolt move back more than half an inch and it gets hung up.

Are these as finnicky as the other products on the market? You only need x-amount of trigger pull to activate it, because if you pull any harder it won't function properly?
@bryanhoell58866 ай бұрын
Nope. Trigger pull is noticeably lighter due to the mechanical action between the cam and trigger. Pull as you'd normally do on any semi-auto.
@FittyACTUAL6 ай бұрын
@bryanhoell5886 is correct. Ive tested binary triggers and forced reset triggers and this is by far the best option. The only thing finnicky cand be getting the buffer spring/weight right for the caliber you are using. Another key is getting the trigger cut correctly because if there is too much material taken off the trigger it will not operate the cam correctly.

The bump stock works with physical manipulation where as the SS and WOT/FRT essentially work the same way. It wouldn't do anything and you would probably get malfunctions if you put them all together.

I saw a video years ago where someone combined a bump stock and binary, and it significantly increased the rate of fire. I can't say if it made it as fast as frt or this device (I'm pretty sure I saw the video before frt, and for sure before the bump stock "ban"), but it appeared to have been comparable to this. The FRT, Bumpstock ruling sets an interesting precedent for removing machine guns from the NFA. If FRTs are legal, and braced "pistol" rifles are legal, literally what is the point of keeping machine guns illegal if the effort and result is the same? A braced AR15 pistol with an M16 BCG and 3 selector FRT is basically, functionally identical to an SBR selectfire rifle. So, why even bother with the NFA at this point?
@stefanl51834 ай бұрын
The problem is it's because of the NFA and it's definition of semi auto and full auto and how it relates to the function of the trigger that got these recent rulings which made bump stocks and FRTs legal again. Be careful what you wish for. Yes, the NFA is old outdated and just plain foolish. But all the recent victories have come as a result of finding work arounds and loop holes in the NFA. For example "pistol braces" were a way around the regulation of SBRs. And pistols with minimal rifling in the barrel, like the Judge were a way around the restrictions on SBS. All of this, including the bump stock and FRT wins exploit the definitions in the NFA. So, I say, Let's keep the NFA exactly as it is. If the NFA does get overturned, that will be the excuse congress is looking for to come up with new legislation to replace it. And you can be dang sure this time around they'll make sure to close all those loop holes. All the dems will vote for it and half of the republicans (the rinos) will also. It will pass easily and we'll wind up worse off than we are now. So, the way I see it we're better off sticking with the NFA as it is, no matter how stupid it may be.
