Hello dear trio from Nashville TN! Thank you for all you give us! Lena, my husband is a musician in Nashville who primarily was a blues player probably for 25 yrs. By the way, we DO have veggies in the South- the South is known for all the veggies because people always had a veggie garden growing up and "meat and three" meaning a meat entree with 3 vegetable choices and a bread, usually cornbread or biscuits- is always to be found.

Yes, lots of farmers markets in the south now but still restaurants who overcook their veggies or get them out of the can - ugh! You have to pick the right places to eat but yeah - sort of threw me with no vegetables in the South.

Guys, much love and appreciation to you all. However, the South has some of the best, freshest vegetables and fruits you can find in the whole world. Many southerners eat fruits and vegetables every single day, and some restaurants in North Carolina and any Southern state serve vegetable plates from early Summer to Fall when fresh fruits and vegetables offer a cornucopia of bounty, directly from our local fields and farms. If you haven't ever visited NC I would highly recommend it, from our Atlantic crystal coast to our majestic Blue Ridge mountains, we have it all...fruits and vegetables included.

Hogarth, I am a little late in joining the group tonight and just listening to the conversation about the Space Station. Yesterday I listened to NPR Science Friday and they interviewed Cady Coleman (astronaut). Cady was on the space station for 6 months and she would have loved it if a similar problem had happened as she wanted to stay longer. You have a set of experiments that you are doing each day and you always leave the station with more experiments to do. Cady said with the added time on the station they are just whizzing thru experiments that have been waiting for completion for months. The station just received two big payloads so plenty of food and work to do - they will not be worried or bored. If you have time please listen to the interview "Science Friday". It was wonderful. Oh Hogarth - know you will not have time as you are heading to the US soon.

Hogarth- the Grand Canyon doesn't really look like a canyon that you may know of because it is so massive. It's more of a system of formations. I was used to a canyon being a steep drop from a great height and when I first saw the Grand Canyon I said that it was so wide and massive that it wasn't really a canyon! It's not really scary but is an incredible series of massive rock formations that starting forming at least 70 million years ago. It is well worth the visit, just amazing!! Try to see the Painted Desert, the Petrified Forest, and/or the Meteor Crater if you have the chance! Unbelievable!!!!

I don’t believe that the Insurance angle is appropriate for that sunken oil freighter because the sinking of an oil freighter and the pollution of an area leads to tremendous liability. The company that owns the ship, and everybody associated with it will be sued to oblivion for the liability damage to the environment.BP oil spill cost BP billions of dollars in settlements and in fact litigation is ongoing for the people in Mississippi affected by the BP oil spill that have come up with certain cancers and diseases associated with oil contamination toxic exposure. This means to me that even if there was a payout for the boat itself, the problem is that the liability associated with the damage would suck up every single bit of the payout for the ship vessel itself, and everything else that that company owns along with the insurance companies that insured the whole mess. There is no way sink and oil freighter is going to make anybody Any money. If it was a sunken cargo ship that sinking for money could make sense. Not so for oil tanker

Hogarth - we went to glass bridge overlooking the Grand Canyon. It is perfectly safe and you aren't anywhere near an edge but you can walk out on the glass and see all the way down to the bottom of the Canyon. It might be an alternative if you aren't comfortable with heights. Just a thought.

For the Boeing question HOGARTH...I think it's interesting that the mission was changed to the gestational period for a human. Lena, I like u but I was really po'd about your description of Trinidad & Tobago as being a country solely dependent on tourism & fishing. Tobago the smaller island depends on tourism but Trinidad has absolutely NEVER depended on tourism or fishing as a major income earner. Our economy is primarily industrial. I was born & raised in Trinidad but has been living in the USA for over 50 years, I've never heard of the oil spill so obviously it has not left the island impoverished. T&T's economy is based on oil, petrochemicals, natural gas & asphalt. We are v friendly & the biggest partiers in the Caribbean...our Carnival rivals Rio, but we don't really care about tourism....u come, u go, we treat u well, bu we really dont't care. How many ads have u seen advertising T&T as a tourist destination? Trinidad had 4 foreign oil companies before they went national. Texaco, Shell, BP (on land) & Amoco for off shore drilling & 2 refineries. My father worked for Texaco for over 40 years. I lived in one of Texaco's gated compounds which was the largest oil producing field in T'dad. In fact, an oil well was drilled obliquely opp my home. I dont know one fisherman, however I know hundreds of oil field workers. As far as asphalt is concerned, our pitch lake has the world's largest natural deposits of asphalt. This asphalt has been exported all over the world...Europe, Asia, Africa, etc. It has paved JFK Airport & Lincoln Tunnel, NYC, the streets in front of the White House in DC, in front of Buckingham Palace, UK, the German autobans, Beijing, etc, etc. I dont know why most ppl think that tourism is the only economy in every WI/Caribbean country. Some countries mine bauxite, coffee, etc., some like the Cayman Islands, Bermuda & others, part of their economy is based on financial services , they are top tax havens for many corporations & rich ppl. Don't view every island in a stereotypical way, do your research!!
