Hohner Thunderbird Low A

The main harmonica is the Hohner Thunderbird Low A, and the other harmonica I'm using is a custom Hohner Marine Band in the key of A. Just having some fun messin' around on these harps. I really love how rich those chords are on the Thunderbird.

Question: Does it take a lot more force (i.e. wind) to play these compared to a higher octave harmonica?

no not really. not until you get to say a low A, low G. you still have to breathe easy but it does require a bit more air.

I like that thunderbird low A. I have a thunderbird low F and a low D. I snagged one of the reeds on the low D while cleaning it I will have to bring it to your roadshow in lansing MI and see if he can fix it.

Love your channel. What's your opinion on Lee Oskar Tombo harps? I like them a lot but haven't really played many others. I've been playing a long time but never got serious, now at 57 I think I'm ready.

I am a Hohner endorsee so naturally I favor them. I find them warmer, tone-wise, than most other brands. I also prefer the playability of say Special 20, Crossover, Marine Band Deluxe.

It's a shuffle. It's really common in blues and it's just too funny to play in cross harp on a diatonic harp (whatever the key... although lower harmonicas - eg G, A, Bb - and low harmonicas - low D, low C, etc. - sounds even 'better'). You'll find a lot of info here on youtube about the shuffle rythm. Hope that helps.
