HOKA CARBON X 3 - Why can't HOKA make a Supershoe? - Full Review

Full Review of the HOKA Carbon X 3. HOKA has fallen well short of the mark in its attempts to create a super shoe / marathon racing shoe. Will the Carbon X 3 finally be the one that is worthy of supershoe status?
Will it make the rotation or be thrown in the bin?

Interesting review. I find shoes with a plate difficult to get a good heel lock. You push your foot out of the heel cup because of the lack of flexibility. It looks narrow like most Hoka shoes. The only Hoka that works for me is the Mach 5. Amazing shoe.

Agree... the Mach 5 is a great shoe! This carbon x 3 is very roomy for a Hoka. I think you are on to something there in regards to flexibility and heel lock.

agree with you 100%, my calves are on fire after a 10k threshold. the ride is too stiff

Same thing they did with Mach 5.... The outsole has no hard rubber. Wears out very fast. While it lasts, the Mach 5 is a delightful. Can't stand the bootie upper. Not going to spend the bucks to experiment with the X3
