I’ve really found your Rebel v4 videos to be helpful. Just ordered a pair to use for an up tempo daily trainer. Would love to try the Mach 6, but at 15 EE my options are super limited. Shout out to New Balance for catering to the flipper-footed runners. Hard to find much beyond max cushion daily trainers elsewhere

Super helpful information and your comparison of the Mach 6 foam to the old Fuel Cell really puts it in context. I wonder if the white pair were just mislabeled. Maybe they're a 9.5 or 10.0. I'm still probably saving myself for the Specter 2 but maybe later on one of these. When you dropped the Rebel v4, it was noticeable how rockered it is. However, the soft, flexible nature of the shoe probably makes it less noticeable. That's probably why you noticed it more in the Mach 5 as well; that bottom layer creates a stiffness that accentuates the rocker. I notice the same in the Hyperion Max because of the stiff, firm midsole.

The comparison we've all been waiting for! I just got the Rebel V4 in but unfortunately they don't work for my flat, low arch feet. There is a very noticeable bump in the arch (I think caused by the extended sidewall) that I know from previous experience will blister. Does the Mach 6 have a noticeable arch bump the same as the rebel?

I just picked up a pair today (rebel v4) and noticed the exact same issue! May try to put a thicker insole from the triumph into the shoe to see if it helps.

The biggest issue I have is that I tore my left ACL when I was 15 and never went through proper PT while being a power lifter. What ended up happening is my right foot became the weight bearing foot and widened out just slightly. So my left foot is normal width, right foot is between normal and 2E. So things like the Rebel and Mach 6 fit weird on my right foot. Like the Rebel has this weird stability ribbon on the forefoot that causes my right foot to cramp because of where it puts pressure, even in the wide. It's just weird.

You’re awesome for comparing these two shoes. And a note on heel striking, usually contacting with your heel doesn’t mean you’re absorbing the impact, you’re rocking from your heel and absorbing impact with your entire foot, so it’s actually healthier than trying to run almost on your toes

Random question, but any chance you could do a video on the Fuelcell Pvlse? I know it hasn't been widely publicized like the other NB models coming out, but I feel like it'll be a good daily trainer for those of us that like less stack height. Great comparison video btw, I think these two are probably the most comparable versatile daily trainers as of now (with the exception of previous models).

Took my Hoka Mach 6 and ran 21.2 km on it straight out of the box and it was a good run. I had to move up half a size for this one. I'm a US 10.5D in my Hoka Mach 5 and I have a US 11.0D for this one. I loved the run on it and I even beat my 21.0 km PB by 2 seconds. The foam is adequately responsive for me. I also fitted the Rebel v4. It's a good shoe but not for me. I'd recommend the Rebel v4 for those runners with wider feet as its toe box felt really roomy for me.
@bschlussel7911 ай бұрын
Once again, great video! Do you like the Rebel v4 better than the Novablast 4? I wonder which shoe would last longer. I was able to get almost 400 miles on the Novablast 3.
@supwell11 ай бұрын
Still working my way to 100 miles on the novablast - hoping to get a comparison workout in with the novablast and rebel at some point soon so stay tuned. I've had really good luck with new balance durability in past 4 but the novablast foam is firmer - and I tend to get more miles out of firmer foam
@hexfire8 ай бұрын
At the same time 400 miles (640km) does not sound like a lot. 700-800km is just right for most modern shoes. What's even more amusing is when you hear about 300 miles in a shoe like a durability achievement, not mentioning even earlier retirement, which sounds downright wasteful.

I tried a half size up in the Mach 6 and it was workable, but clearly long. Most testers have said TTS for the 6 but it's a narrow shoe, so it probably would have been better to go for a wide.

Where I live they only offer the Mach 6 in wide fitting. I'm a US10 and it seems slightly wider than my standard Mach 5 or the Novablast. I checked the weight and I also have a 10g difference between left and right. The Mach 6 seems a lot more stable than my Speed 2s, but I haven't done 30 miles yet!

@@AndrianTube Your head would say Novablast, your heart Mach 6. Novablast is your steady friend, a bit boring but reliable. Mach 6 is more exciting, but perhaps not quite such a good fit. Personally, I sold the Novoblast and stuck with the Mach 6, but then I have other shoes in my rotation.

i wish the rebel v4 had worked for me (tried them out for a week) but after trying out the endorphin speed 3 for 8 miles i got TERRIBLEEE shin splints & the only thing i can run in double digit miles without shin splint pain are the hoka mach 6’s. I watched the full video 📹 u posted here. I don't think these 2 shoes can be compared anymore, unlike the Mach 5, which was one of Hokas best. The Mach 5 to Mach 6 with the increase of a full 8mm are totally different shoes. The Rebel V4 is the true replacement for the Mach 5 and I have a pair now. They are brilliant. From everything you have said here I don't like the Mach 6 and after what Hoka have done destroying the Mach 5 which was one of their best selling shoes and a favourite with a mass following, they have lost my business and I've moved over to New Balance. I am ordering a 2nd pair of V4. If I were you, I would send the white Mach 6 back, not only because Hoka have become so amateur they can't get the sizing right within the same shoe model (what a joke 😅 ), but because with your toes pressed against the front/top like that, you could get "black toe" which is very unsightly and hard the get rid of. It occurs when the capillaries in your nail bed burst with the constant rubbing and pressure on the nail against its bed rupturing the capillaries. The blood then escapes under the nail giving it that black appearance when the blood dries. The whole process is exacerbated when your feet swell when running/exercising. This is Hokas incompetence and you shouldn't have to wear and bare that cost. Thanks for the review. Good job.
