I just got a pair and can't wait to start using them. I will have to hold them for a bit while I put some more miles into my Ultra Glide and Torrent 2. I also was a big fan of Speedgoat 3 and after so many positive feedback from version 5 I think I am gonna love them even more. Thanks for the honest video and keep enjoying them for more miles. Cheers!

I purchased the Solomon speedcross 5 based on the reviews, and boy are they incredibly durable, stable, and comfortable for runs and hikes under 8 miles. I was thinking about purchasing these but Hokas based on my experience Hokas as a whole ate comfortable for around 6 months then start falling apart.

Thanks for the nice review. I have about 200 miles on mine with almost no sign of wear. Do you think the midsole acts differently in colder vs warmer temps? I enjoyed them all summer (70-80F running) but now since running in winter on dirt and snow (25-40F temps) they feel like flat tires. Maybe it is just me imagining this?

I haven’t noticed a big difference. I had them out today with temp just before freezing and they felt pretty good. I do wonder how long Hoka is going to stick with their EVA midsole compound. Have a great day.

So disappointed with this shoe. It gives zero grip on surfaces that are even slightly wet or sandy. If you running on technical trails like me, please avoid the speedgoat 5.
