I don't think it's a different personality thing, I think it's 'cause he's literally just trained so hard and so much that the moves are ingrained into his body's muscle memory. But he's so convinced that he's weak that he just never realized how effective those moves are. When he's asleep though, he starts sleepwalking. Or rather, because of the ingrained muscle memory, 'sleepfighting'.
