So while Tanjiro was struggling to breathe. In that scene in the manga the author talks saying that humans have 2 limits. A stamina and life limit. Tanjiro was about to go over his life limit. If his sister Hanako, hadn't told him to breathe he would have died. Also Tanjiros bloody eyes came from immense anger because Daki killed the people so his veins bursted. It was explained that this anger would give a temporary power boost but it had the negative effect of causing tunnel vision so he forgot his pain, blinking and even breathing Also there was a cool line saying "If Humans could harness the power of hatred and anger...then demons would have disappeared from this world a long time ago"

It's unfortunate but the anime left out a key thing that happened when tanjiro's eyes started to bleed. The author in the manga goes into talking about people having 2 sets of limitations. A stamina limit (how much you can endure before you tire yourself out) and a life limit (another limit that when you either use it up or pass it you'll legit die) and tanjiro went past his stamina limit and if his sister hadn't said anything to him telling him to breathe he would have surpassed his life limit and literally have died on the spot. He was most likely literal seconds away from death. That powerup came with serious risks since it basically gave him tunnel vision so he didn't breathe, feel any pain or know that he was about to die because of it. Basically a double edged sword

Props to the VAs that starred this episode bro. They're all spectacular. Tanjiro's VA that really portrayed the screams and the catching of breath and choking of Tanjiro after not breathing. Daki's VA that made that confused-hurt scream when Nezuko kicked her down and Nezuko's VA that can portray emotion even without using words but through growls. This series really gathered the best voice actors in Japan and now, they finally added another one which is the Swordsman in Muzan's memories Yoriichi VA that also voices Kakashi in Naruto.

He trains for months and months and years, and he still has years to go. His progress is slow. Just gonna put this out there, I took this comment from another reaction video, shoutout to that guy he explains what happened with Tanjiro and shit. So while Tanjiro was struggling to breathe. In that scene in the manga the author talks saying that humans have 2 limits. A stamina and life limit. Tanjiro was about to go over his life limit. If his sister Hanako, hadn't told him to breathe he would have died. Also Tanjiros bloody eyes came from immense anger because Daki killed the people so his veins bursted. It was explained that this anger would give a temporary power boost but it had the negative effect of causing tunnel vision so he forgot his pain, blinking and even breathing Also there was a cool line saying "If Humans could harness the power of hatred and anger...then demons would have disappeared from this world a long time ago"

Tanjirou's Rage was kind of hinted at in season 1 when the Spider Mother killed some Demon Slayers. Tanjirou was so angry he scared even Inosuke. Finally Nezuko's full demon form or as I like to call it Boing Boing mode!...I'll see myself out.

I mean even further back when he fought them demon triplets and was questioning the last one and sliced his mouth & tongue open while he was talking about how only young girls are good to eat. Tanjiro has a shit ton of sympathy for demons but once you cross a certain point he turns real terrifying real fast. It’s like his brother’s ghost said “you and Nezuko get real scary when you’re angry for other people.”
