I am one of the extremely fortunate people who purchased one of these absolutely amazing limited production models ( 30 produced, one for each of the top 30 Holden dealers Australia wide hence the top 30 name tag) back in 1981 from Bill Patterson Motors in Ringwood. I still own the car today. It remains essentially in original condition although l replaced the turbo 350 with a manual 5 speed 5 years into its life and replaced the original wheels with steel mags as the originals had hairline cracks appearing. I believe this particular model was the first sanctioned by GM to have Brock modifications so it's touring pedigree is spectacular and having not been restricted by speed limits over the coarse of its life in the NT it has always been able to live up to that pedigree. I still drive the car today a little more sparingly than in the past.

Nice love the passion! First car was a 6 VH SL/E. 2017 bought another SL/E with a 4.2, just love it aka them. Original is best Holden knew how to make magic, great car.

My dads first Commodore was a Blue VH Station wagon. He passed it on to my Grandfather who drove it until he passed away a few years ago. Was a great reliable car.

VC looked the best I thought. Grille, headlight washers, interior looked similar/ same to this one with the single spoke steering wheel & headrests in the back. Best I've ever seen, two tone paint too.

I had one with 253 blue motor, the hydraulic lifters in it made it sound like a tin of gravel up high. Cool to see them still going though... but if we look back in time they weren’t uniquely Australian, the commodore actually started back in the late 60’s in Europe through Opel, and in 77 with this shape. I only found out when an uncle visited in the 90’s and called it our to me. 😂

Classic vehicle you have and keep it as it’s hard to see them in good nic.. I have both, SLE 5L HDT Improved which was rare and VB SLE 4.2 both with under 70 on the clock in my shed and I would guess would fetch around 80k Dont sell it as you’ll regret day as I sold my VC Brock for 9k in 1994

Awesome looking car! I've always liked vintage cars that are original, and unmolested. Unless the modification is to improve the safety of a car, or to improve the performance, I'd say leave the damn car as it was.

Holden took on the europeans with this car? uh no, the whole vb-vh was an opel from the beginning and the opel versions came with much more than cruise control and a trip computer. They had electric seats, mirrors, folding mirrors, climate control and much more. I love his enthusiasm but they didn't rival the european cars since they where stripped down euro cars to begin with.

you have to remember in 1981 things like baby mercedes and four door 3 series beemers were a long way away.if you wanted safety in those days your only option was a volvo maybe a saab.

The European equivalent, the Opel Commodore C was available with only one engine option, a 2,5 litre straight six (130hp). In Europe, we could only dream of the 4,2 and 5,0 litre V8‘s you had in Australia. Same was with Ford Models, Aussie Cortinas had V8‘s in their top spec, while European ones had a 2,3 litre six as the top spec engine.

@@michaeld7409 No Australian Ford Cortina had a V8 from the factory the biggest top spec motor 250ci 4.1 litre straight 6 the granddad of the Barra.

Alan Gower Thanks for correcting me :) pity no granddad around here for a ride (Germany). On the contrary, our poverty spec version was a 1.3 litre R4 (55hp), pretty sure not available in AUS ;)

The pin striping is wrong, Polished wheels look crap, wrong colour indicator stalk, Wrong Exhaust sysyem should have twion outlets cars junk

Who has their cranky pants on lol. It has only been recently been acquired as is, as per the video. Give the fellow a little time to find all those hard to get bits and feel happy that there are still a few about.

It's a T30, the 'pin striping' is correct, paint and interior was different than the normal shadow tone
