He's back haha. I know the feeling I haven't put much up lately either as I've been stalled. Hopefully soon. To answer the question, yes 6 sugars is hecticly abnormal haha. Also mate, inox that clutch spring. Lasted way longer than WD40 in my old VLs 😜

Hey Bing!!! Yeah it’s definitely been awhile haha. 6 sugars is definitely outrageous!!! Would you believe the clutch spring is actually broken and has been for years 🤷🏼♂️😂 The pedal is just returning from hydraulic pressure haha I’ve got a spare spring, it’s just a pain in the butt to pull the pedal out to change.

Awesome videos mate. Not alot of people making good informative videos on vl turbos on the KZbin. Very greatfull and keep them coming. I'm currently building a vl commodore series 200 turbo which is about to get a bare metal respray. Aiming for the 9 second pass but still drivable on the street. It'll be a powerglide or t400 box though but god manual would be fun.

Thanks mate, my goal of the channel is to share some knowledge and maybe give people the confidence to tackle some jobs themselves at home. You can make anything drivable these days by having more than one tune. Flick a switch and she’s a 9 sec monster, flick it back and comfortable quick street car. Good luck with the build.

i guess u can put it down to what makes the energy for the turbo if u get better efficient combustion u will get quicker boost time the free gains hole power range
@dalevloghlan87713 жыл бұрын
I agree. It’s definitely getting a more efficient burn and I can only imagine it will improve again throughout the rev range once I put it back on the dyno.

What fuel economy are you getting with this beast
@dalevloghlan87713 жыл бұрын
All depends on the right foot I guess. Lately I’ve been getting about 400 to 450k’s out of a tank, that’s normal driving with the odd boost hit here and there.
@joshuawatson94863 жыл бұрын
@@dalevloghlan8771 that's on 98 octane obviously? That's pretty impressive for a calais turbo. Wonder if you could get it too 500km to a tank with some tidy up tuning and the better spark now. Would you put a flex tune in it down the track.?
@dalevloghlan87713 жыл бұрын
Yep on 98. There is always a compromise between making power and getting good fuel economy. I would go flex eventually, however at the moment there’s only one servo that sells E85 and that’s about half an hour away from myself.

would it be worth ust spending the money on decent ecu with ls coils / price wise like trying to predict my build and rather buy once.. actaully think i get all the engine management sorted before turbo build.. good gear map and stuff and just daily it around on club rego na till i build up a motor
@dalevloghlan87713 жыл бұрын
It’s probably not worth it if you’re going to keep it N/A for awhile. I would sort out the bugs with the car first, improve suspension, brakes etc. In the mean time, plan the build, work out your budget and slowly accumulate the parts over time. Then when you have everything, do the turbo conversion. Even better would be to buy a spare motor if you are going to forge it and build that on the side, that way you can still drive the VL and enjoy it rather than having it off the road a long time.

The old vl headlights look next to useless. Haha.
