The AU has coolant loss protection it would have been shutting down cylinders to protect the engine. Series 1 brakes are single pot calipers on the front, it is possible to replace them with series 2/3 or BA twin pot calipers but requires swapping out a bunch of front end suspension components.

Yeah you can hear me on the second lap with no power steering! Then once it was hot and had coolant spewing out the overflow it was a bit slippery entering the chicane hence why I slid into the barrier!

Series 1 au has horrific brakes from factory, they’re basically e series brakes and are puny. Series 2-3 are much better and b series btembos will bolt straight on to au series 2-3. Upgrading the s1 brakes to s2-3 or b series is actually a bit of pain in the ass.
