Like all Inquisitors, the Grand Inquisitor was once a Jedi before falling to the dark side. However, what was so special about him was that most of the other Inquisitors were either Padawans or Younglings when they fell, whereas the Grand Inquisitor was a Jedi Temple Guard, so he was either a Jedi Master or a Jedi Knight, Either way, he was very experienced. He was even one of the guards that arrested Barriss Offee and overheard Ahsoka's trial, which some others have already said. However, that is not the sole reason he fell to the dark side. Being a Temple Guard, he was always stationed at the Jedi Temple, which was once a Sith Shrine and so was filled with dark side energy, and also why the Jedi Council was so oblivious to Palpatine. And just like Anakin, I believe he wanted more knowledge but was not allowed by the Council. And so when Operation Knightfall happened (Anakin's attack on Jedi Temple), he assisted him by killing the Jedi Temple Guard around him (the in-universe reason why we don't see them in the Temple in the 3rd movie)

I love the symbolism of everything that happens in the Jedi temple. When Kanan reaches back to grab a second lightsabre during his fight, he does so out of fear, a path to the darkside, and that's why it's a red blade. It's one of my favourite moments in the whole show.

On Hera's accent slipping out - I had a roommate in college whose family was from India, though I think he was born in the US. Day to day he sounded like anyone else born in the US, but I knew when he was on the phone with his family because he'd have the thickest Indian accent I'd ever heard, even though he'd still be speaking English the entire time. The Grand Inquisitor was a Jedi Temple Guard during the Clone Wars. Dave Filoni said that he was one of the Temple Guards who arrested Barris Offee during the Ahsoka arc in Clone Wars Season 5. Listening to Barriss's speech started his turn to the dark side and eventually with more of Palpatines manipulations he turned. On the night that Anakin and the 501st stormed the Temple, the Grand Inquisitor betrayed and slaughtered all but one of the other Temple guards. A star wars encyclopedia book revealed that the first Jedi Anakin killed during the purge was the last remaining Temple guard.

Geonosis is a tragic tale, after building so many machines for the Separatists, even the superstructure skeleton of the first Death Star, the Empire in classic fashion decided to dispose of the whole species after they had fulfilled their use. This meant sterilisation of most of the planet, leaving only a few survivors that will probably take millennia to get back to previous population levels. Palpatine don't play around.

He had a very specific problem he needed to solve or he wouldn't be able to 'move on' (like pretty much every jedi vision). His trial was to let go as well as getting away from the whole "fighting theme" that the 3 of them were getting into. Unlike a lot of Star Wars, this show will put subtext right into the text in dialogue. Just because 3 popular protagonists agree to do a thing, it doesn't mean it's the right thing.

considering that kanan's master was apprentice to mace windu and that according to the ROTS novel that douku felt a kind grandfatherly bond to kenobi which meant that he would've likely felt a kind fatherly bond with qui-gon. assuming that most masters and apprentices often end up getting that sort of bond if not you kind of get lumainara's out look on it. I think ankains whole case with both his master and apprentice were rare compared to most Jedi. kanan hearing about windu's charge is pretty much one of those instances where he's pretty much hearing stories about his grandfather from his father in-law despite it not being official you are certainly meant to get the kind of feeling of father in-law and son in-law. its probably one of few links he to his master even if its not directly.

The reason why the hats are like that is because of costs they had to cut, Little things you'll notice remember each episode of clone wars was about 1 million to make that's not including the season seven which was 2 million per episode ...but Star Wars rebels is considerably less was about $400,000 an episode to make so they cut corners with certain things, Like not showing their faces just their eyes covered because it's more expensive to animate

Each film portrayed two soldiers from opposing sides who become stranded and learn to depend on each other for survival. I would assume as well, that having been Anakin's Padawan that Ahsoka WOULD know Vader is Anakin. BUT as Yoda was known to say The Dark Side clouds everything. So - and this is a personal theory, not canon nor fact - perhaps by accepting to become Darth Vader, Anakin no longer "feels" the same within the Force. Maybe his actual Force Presence is different. There's enough for Ahsoka to get a sense of familiarity, but not quite identify who Vader actually is Also as Vader he has probably learned to keep himself concealed and KNOWS when someone is trying to "read" him, so he actively resists them.

So something that is not exactly made clear in that final episode this batch is where these Visions were coming from. See at this point we know that Qui-Gon has been training Yoda years since Revenge of the Sith. We also know from the Yoda Arc at the end of the first six seasons of Clone Wars which is all that had been released at the time that Rebels aired that Dagobah is one of several Force Nexusus has within the Galaxy. So it stands to reason that the Visions given to Kanan, Ezra and Ahsoka were giving by one of the few people in the Galaxy who had many of the pieces to the ultimate puzzle of the Sith grand plan. And since we know that Obi-Wan and Yoda were wanting to train one of the Skywalker children in order to actually take on Vader and Sidious , it stands to reason why they would be hesitant to send Kanan, Ezra and Ahsoka into the battle. We also know from their Exchange in season 1 that The Grandmaster knows about Ezra touching the dark side and knows about Kanan's insecurities when it comes to training Ezra. And as the highest-ranking Living member of the Jedi Council he would have the authority to Grant Knighthood. So knowing all that he designed a test for Kanan in order to determine whether or not he was ready for knighthood( note that Kanan was knighted according to his assumed name not his birth name). Given communication with Obi-Wan through the Force it makes sense that he would have formed The Grandmaster of the Jedi who defected to form the inquisitorius. Which would be how The Grandmaster knew that the grand Inquisitor had once been a temple guard. As for Asoka there is a bit of retconning going on but it's still generally works. Basically during Siege of Mandalore Maul gave her a hint as to what hideous was planning to do with Anakin. But given the events Revenge of the Sith including order 66 she was unable to reach out and talk to Anakin and due to her dismissal from the Jedi Order she was hesitant to trust the council with the information that Maul had provided. She got brief glimpses presumably when she touched Anakin's mind during the siege of lothal but she was so overwhelmed by the man that he had become she was unable to fully realize what it was she was sensing. Enter Master Yoda who was able to confirm her suspicions more-or-less by taking the information that she had during the Clone Wars and giving her enough of the pieces to be able to figure it out. Also a fun little side note is if you re-watch the scene where Ahsoka is meditating the fog in the temple covers up the areas of Anakin's body that got mutilated by Obi-Wan( his left arm which was remaining after his fight with Dooku in Attack of the Clones and then his right hand left legs) it's a fun little detail that eventually reveals the full height of Vader in that vision. Ever since this episode initially aired people that have complained about the design of The Grandmaster and the design of Anakin. I personally don't have an issue given that it fits with the aesthetic of the show. This batch of episodes has some of my favourite character moments in the entire show up to this point, from the connection to Clone Wars characters that people loved, 2 the rather tragic humanization of Kallus, to having Matt Lanter, James Earl Jones and Frank Oz all in the same episode with Ashley Eckstein which really seems like a reunion of Legacy Star Wars actors. If my memory serves there are two episodes which involve our favourite murderous Droid and then we're onto the finale.

The things on Twi'leks heads (and on Togrutas as well like Ahsoka) are called Lekku -Twi'lek just means twin lekkus. The episode with Kallus and Zeb is reminicent of the Star Trek TNG episode where Geordi cooperates with a Romulan officer to get out of a slmy moon. Ashsoka felt Anakin in Vader earlier in the season and felt his fall in the last episode of the Clone Wars. But until she confronted the vision, she was in denial because she believed it was her fault, she left the order and subsequently, made him vulnerable. Especially after Maul told her that he was groomed by Sidious. Jen not liking Hera is mind boggling. The Grand Inquistor we saw in the temple wasn't actually him. Rather, he was a vision created by the will of the Force to teach Kanan the lesson he needed to learn. It was a complete recreation though, which is why it behaved like the Grand Inquistor and had his memories. No one can come back from the Comsic Force unless they surrender completely understand the nature of the Force (which is how Qui-gon was able to return). As an agent of the dark side to the very end, the Inquistor's individuality would not have endured death. Basically, the Force used the Grand Inquisitor's likeness because it would be the best wake-up call for Kanan.

One my favorite fun facts in Episode 17 when the female Inquisitor says you have a handsome face, she’s voiced by Sarah Michelle Gellar who is married to Freddie Prinze Jr, who voices Kanan..

19:25 from the comics Darth Vader and an army of stormtroopers came to the planet and commuted genocide (yes ironic with the planet name) on the geonosians. Why? That me and others can’t reveal yet.

Episode 16 titled Episode 15 in the video and so on. The season of Editing errors continue. I think your Editor needs a holiday lol. Give the poor guy a break. Episode 17 with Zeb and Kalus reminds me of that movie with Dennis Quaid "Enemy Mine" where he and this alien warrior whose species are in a war with the humans crash land together on the same planet and have to work together to survive and eventually become friends. I always like the cliche of the villain not being a complete badguy and helping the good guys eventually.
