Just found your channel and your journey and I'm glad to follow along with you. Kanan was 14 when Order 66 occurred, so still just a padawan. And while he doesn't have the most power (wouldn't it be boring if all characters are super powerful?) by the end of the series, he is shown as the most balanced Jedi we've seen. You'll love his journey. I'm also glad that you have enjoyed the show so far since this series gets a lot of crap from a lot of fans. Mainly, because Clone Wars was cancelled before this one came out. So fans were mad about the loss of the other series. As for the timeline, this takes place about four years before A New Hope. Ezra is DAYS older than Luke and Leia. So you can keep track of their age through him. This series ends just days to weeks before Rogue One. Also, the Grand Inquisitor was actually a full Jedi, instead of Padawan. Won't say too much so it doesn't ruin the surprise later on, but, that is why he is such a greater threat than some other villains.

When you actually think about it, the "There is no try" quite makes perfect sense. I had a friend once that I performed with in a musical. His acting was worthy of "Best of bad acting". We told him repeatedly to "just say his lines" and stop TRYING to "perform" them. Even when we stopped rehearsing and said "repeat after me". He'd say the words perfectly, but then as soon as we started rehearsing again his tone and deaner would get extremely cringy again. He had no concept of HOW to act. He'd keep saying "I'm trying". And that was the problem. He was TRYING to act and not actually acting. It means that you either succeed or you don't. There's no in between.
