Its the Rock! He is most famous for his improvised Wrestling promos. He was able to play with the audience like noone. He got people to boo him, then cheer him and back to booing in a couple of seconds. If anyone can come up with an improvised insult or punchline off the cuff, its the Rock.

I was just waiting for the "How long is this runway?" You actually lasted a decent amount of time before asking that compared to many. Well done! The movies become even more extreme after this. You'll notice that a lot of actions blockbusters around 2010 started just becoming team-up heist movies. F&F is no exception. Hollywood figured out a formula, which I think was learned from the success of the first Avengers movie.

7:04 Vin also named his daughter after Paul (Paulina) and Vin walked Meadow down the aisle at her wedding. I believe Vin & Dwayne’s beef had to do with both being Alpha’s and Dwayne taking the spin-off movie. It’s funny some place recently released a wax sculpture of Dwayne Johnson and it looks like if Vin & Dwayne had a kid. Gal Gadot was in the Israeli Defense Forces. 30:51 Ludacris’ reaction was real. Dwayne adlibbed that scene.

The runway scene may seem long but it's just a decent size. The runway seems long because we as viewers are looking at multiple scenes happening but from the characters' perspective every single one of these events that we are watching are happening simultaneously. For us it's roughly 30-40 mins but for them it probably just lasted 10 mins.

So when it’s on Han and Giselle in the cars, the stuff in the plane with Brian and dom is happening at the same time. This was the last movie that Paul was in for entire production. Same year in November, he unfortunately passed away. 6 & 7 were suppose to be released back to back (2013 & 14 resp.) so they were already halfway in 7s production. Paul's brothers filled in to do some of his scenes. They CGI his face and few clips from previous films were also used as reference. Movie was released in 2015 and earned more than a billion. It was a bittersweet moment but at least we got Paul in the 7 rather than entirely removing his character. Although you can still see few scenes where it was apparent that that's a CGI face. BTW, these are not spoilers as fans already knew what was going on with the production. PS, that ending 😢 Edit: Shit it'll be 10 years this November 30th since Paul passed. Time goes by soo fast.

I'd say 1-3 is more car films, racing culture etc... 4-6 you can see a definite transition into more generic action film territory. From here on out (7-....) they're pretty much pure popcorn action movies that just happen to include cars. I actually don't hate any of them, despite the complaints that get made about them, they are all still thoroughly entertaining films. I honestly believe that if they hadn't shifted in the way that they did, they probably wouldn't have made it past 5. The car focus was starting to get a little tapped out. One thing to remember: Hobbs & Shaw. Watch between 8 & 9. Actually a pretty good film. Better (I think) than the actual F&F films that surround it.

Ya, my only defense for why it keeps going is an interview i believe i saw where Vin & Paul were saying it would be cool to get to 10 movies.🤷‍♂️But you're right, 7 wouldve been a perfect stopping point.

i actually find this part of the F&F history interesting - the beef between the rock and vin [and tyrese] started sometime between paul dying and the rock being offered his own spin off movie. vin and tyrese [i think more so tyrese] were upset that the rock would agree to doing a solo/spinoff movie [which is what the studio wanted because the rock is a guaranteed big box office] without the rest of the cast. I love him but let's be real, these movies are keeping tyrese's career afloat and he was a mess after paul died. but i also love the rock and totally get why he would agree to what the studio wants. are you guys going to watch hobbes and shaw? xD

It gets meme'd a lot but the family aspect is really the thing that holds the franchise together, not the crazy explosions and fast cars. The relationships of these characters with 7 movies of build is the core, which is why Hobbs and Shaw didn't do that great in the box office. The same reason you couldn't do a F&F with just Vin Diesel & Paul Walker is also the reason you couldn't do it with only the Rock and Jason Statham; the side characters add too much soul to these otherwise, outlandish action movies. I don't blame the Rock, as you said it's the studio who wanted it. But it sucks that a relationship was damaged in the process

The beef semi started in this one and kept escalating. Until they were unable to film any scenes together so they used their stunt and body doubles for interactions. It sounds like because Paul died they were able to put it aside somewhat in 7. Not wanting the controversy to overshadow Paul's death.

"Turn your brain off & enjoy dont ask to many questions" that's literally how you gotta watch all Hollywood action blockbuster franchises lol. This, Mission Impossible, John Wick, Terminator, Die Hard etc. You can pick apart realistic technicalities in any of them if you want lol. If they were realistic we'd have no movie.
