Also being a play-up of a lot of the challenges of having a baby, i.e. being a literal handful (multiplying himself) or getting into dangerous places if you take your eyes off them for a second (phasing/porting into areas)

I always assumed that Jack-Jack's powers were temporary, because babies are still developing and growing, nothing is set in stone, as he gets older, his powers will get more specific and he'll end up with one or two, like everyone else.

The Incredibles is honestly a stronger film thematically- when you look at the shots and framing of scenes like Mr. incredible being hit by the goo in the server room, there’s really nothing with that level of thematic weight in the sequel. With that said, both films are terrific and a worthwhile demonstration of Pixar’s strengths

I love the implication that as a child, he'll have multiple powers manifest, but as he grows older, only a few will remain, probably those that best suits his personality. It'sa good metaphor for "growing into your skin"

Jack-Jack's powers also all line up with things commonly said by new parents about raising young kids; they can get into and out of anywhere, they're impossible to pick up when they don't want to be, when they're in a bad mood it's like raising a little goblin or something, any time you can't see them and expect to be able to is terrifying, and so on. Which I think is a fun little design choice for what powers he has and underlining the message both movies share that raising a family / being a good parent is in itself a "superpower".

They're both very good movies. Syndrome is the deciding factor that makes the first one slightly better. He's arguably the best Pixar villain still

This Shortly after this movie came out, all movie theaters had to have a posted epilepsy warning for the flashing lights section. The DVD/ Blu-ray release came with a version where the strobes were slowed down so they weren't as bad for photosensitive viewers.

There is one plot hole in the movie: their house was destroyed 3 months prior to the incident with Underminor so it’s a little weird that they got holed up in a hotel just now and didn’t have some other arrangement by then… also it had to be a little bit of a soft spot for Bob when Helen stops the train given that one of the last things Mr Incredible did in the early years was stop a train and then got sued for it that the government had to pay for…

I kinda consider them both parts of one movie. But tbh most of the jokes that I remember and quote are from the second one. At the end of the day I think part 2 did a good job of updating some things from the first movie without losing it's charm. When watching the reaction to the first movie I kept waiting for certain scenes to happen only to realize they were from the sequel lol.

I just watched the full movie again just before I watched your reaction. When I saw it at the cinema, I wasn't too crash hot on it but this time around I really really enjoyed it - it was super fun. It really reminded me mo9re of a 60's spy movie rather than a superhero movie, which made it feel cool. Such a great movie... I loved all of Jack Jack's powers and adventures (I also just watched on DisneyPlus there's another short when Edna looked after Jack Jack called Auntie Edna. You guys might like that) I found out Brad Bird actually voices Edna Mode.... I always thought it was a woman voicing her all this time. Crazy. Awesome stuff. Hope you guys see more Pixar movies on here. :)

Well the show was not part of their generation. It's understandable if they didn't know where it was from. If anything, "is that from Scooby-Doo?" is a reasonable questions as both animated shows have similar styles and were produced by Hanna-Barbera.

Some jokes are kinda...... dated to say the least, but all of season 2 and 3 are incredibly funny and the quality from their writer and editor(kaierneko) gets better and better with each episode. I don't even see it as just as an abridge anymore, more like a re-dub but funnier.

the reason the first movie didnt have much of a focus on family is because mr. Incredible didn't know how to work with others. Him wanting to work alone is what made the main villain the main villain and to beat the main villain he needed to accept help from his family. The first movie is nearly thematically perfect while the other one is just trying to be a mcu style family friendly full of jokes action movie that doesnt have any heavy themes or anything. Also the jokes just make the movie feel off tone especially compared to the first one. Just my opinion though.

After having seen both movies, I would’ve loved if the 1st movie took a darker turn and Jack-Jack being successfully kidnapped by Syndrome and then raised to be evil. Then the second movie being set years later where the Parrs have to then fight an evil/ influenced Jack-Jack who’s grown into his powers and is an absolute badass!

I wouldn't agree. I don't think the elastigirl storyline was actually the B storyline. It's obvious that the real story was about Bob dealing with being being a stay at home dad, the difficulty he faces at home with the kids, and dealing with Jack Jack. Meanwhile the Elastigirl storyline felt slightly hollow. The character that had the most character growth was Bob, and the kids. While i felt almost no growth in Helen. Even the final battle between her and the bad girl didn't draw my attention, and so it felt more like a story about Bob.
