If you get that overwhelmed feeling, split your tasks down into bundles of jobs, then each bundle has little sub jobs and tick them off as you go. I have MH issues and the lists approached really helps me when I get "that" feeling! Looking forward to more build videos!

Your doing a great job so far ! Don't forget to insulate everything including floor it will keep it warmer in winter and cooler on summer. It will also cut down on noise. I did and helped a lot.

Mate I’m 2 months into fitting out a rusty narrowboat from scratch, and it’s easy to get into a headspace of oh god what have I done when thinking about what’s left to do. I’ve found giving time to visualise and think through the next few steps and focusing on the job in hand, taking baby steps moves you miles when you turn back to look. Love the videos man,

I've watched dozens of van & truck conversions and this one has the most clean & spotless shell to start with by far. I would have welded, brazed, or soldered the holes but if using a metal filler wasn't an option I'd have also gone with JB Weld. I use it all the time & it's my #1 epoxy of choice, so you're doing a brilliant job.

Filling those holes.. You have that sikaflex - didn't pay attention on what type that was, but there is sikaflex that is just perfect for that kind of jobs. Urethane glue sticks very well into different things, stays flexible and is affordable. They actually assemble buses with that glue; some rivets to keep the panels in place until the glue has cured.

If you decide to install a Diesel heater you will have to drill two holes in the floor for the exhaust and air intake hoses. Probably best to do it before laying the flooring.

Love seeing the progress. A suggestion for the build, spread the weight of u plan to have the kitchen/working area behind the driver then have the batteries on the other side. Also get t lithium batteries if u plan using solar, more money but will increase power production

Use a Vibrating Widget or Mouse sander on hat JB weld with like 220 or 320 grit and it will smooth out great. Then hit with hammerite again to make sure. Kilmat (r) or Dynamat butyl matting from Amazon heavy on wheel wells and couple spots on walls and ceiling to cancel road vibration and cut out noise is a great idea. what are you going to use beneath your subfloor? insulation? Rubber mat? (the stuff that goes under Carpet? that way you have insulative value as well additional sound deadening. Cheers and keep up the spirit.

This truly is one of the best van build series i've seen. And thats having spent the past 18 months watching multiple van builds daily! Thanks for such a detailed and thorough work through. I'm looking to get my own Ducato in the next few months and am taking notes of all the quirks and bumps you come across along the way. Instead of MIG welding to plug the 125+ holes in my van floor, I will use this technique. Makes sense. Quick mix and putty knife and we're in business.

Are you going to reuse the original ply on the floor - if you get some 1/2 insulation and the put it over the top it’ll fit nicely, save you time and money - might also be an idea to lay out your electrical set up beforehand so you can put the wiring down before the insulation 👍

Don't forget you'll need to cut a couple of larger holes in the floor for a diesel heater, if you plan on using one. Also remember that you need heat resistant sealant around the exhaust pipe hole for the heater.

I would have thought some holes are good for breathability and drainage, also when using jb weld, ive seen others doing 2 straight lines of it to get equal mix, then blending the 2 lines..

And while I think of it, I didn't screw through the van floor. I glued battens down and screwed into them so I didn't puncture the metal. This could be a good way or it may be a bad way of doing things, I don't know - all I wanted was not to risk introducing rust. Maybe someone could put me straight on it.

There's no rush, I bought my tranny back in September, plyed the floor and the sides, made a couple of storage trunks then found that I could put my sleeping bag on the floor so there's where I paused. I've not done anything to it since other than go places.
