That was such a wonderful memory of your mother's. What a joyous memory. It sounds decadent. I bake thu out the year, but love to bake the special things around the holidays. Brings out those dear to our hearts memories. I lost my parent's year's ago. I cherish all of their memories.Thank you for sharing that special moment of yours.:)

TheQueensCabinet Thank you for the kind words. I love to read and write. I start a journal of the memories of parents out fear that as I grew older I wouldn't be able to remember them. It was an irrational fear. I hold them dear to my heart, where they will always live on. :)

I've made this recipe twice and I find the cook time way too short if you are using 2 large loaf pans. (It makes the right amount for that, but you need to bake for at least 65-70 minutes. Because persimmons get sweeter as they get more ripe, you may find the sugar excessive... and I think it makes the breads scorch easily. I put a tin foil hat on the bread for about half the baking time so they look more attractive. It's a very dense bread, almost like a fruit cake. Tasty, but be prepared for a long baking and cooling time. This is not a project to start after 8pm or so... as you'll be going for some hours. Very holiday bread.

Thank you so much. This was so easy and delicious. I've made 3 batches of this already. I modified the recipe and added more hachiya persimmon ( I have a tree) to it and only used 2 cups of sugar and it was amazing. I appreciate you sharing this with the world. Much love from New Jersey. ❤👍🏽 Happy belated Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. 😁❤❤❤🙌🏽🙏🏽

Your Persimmon Bread recipe is exactly like a very old Pumpkin Bread recipe my Mom got from her boss' grandmother back in the early 70's. The ingredients are the same except for using pumpkin puree instead of persimmon pulp. It's crazy good, but I only make it a few times a year because of all the sugar!

The only difference in recipes that I see is that the pumpkin bread recipe uses 3/4 C water. That makes sense since pumpkin puree is a little thicker. I hope it works for you!

Hey Shelby. As a child my best friend and I would walk across from her house on a die Troy road, it was called Buck and Penn Road. They were brothers and farmed the land surrounding. Anywho, there was a persimmon tree on that road. I would eat them off the ground. I a,ways have fond memories of carefree summer days whe. I hear persimmon. They were little. So now I will be on a quest to find persimmons around here. Looks yummy!
