I spent Christmas alone and it was good. I was upset the days leading up to it but on the day, I was cool sent messages made a few calls and enjoyed listening to music, dancing alone, eating and sleeping. Once I accepted the situation I was able to be content and grateful.

Those type of presents are for serious relationships ONLY like marriage (i KNOW an autographed football is expensive and i wouldn't spend a whole bunch of money on a dude that doesn't celebrate the holidays and you wont get anything back!) 19:51 in addition to the cast's advice, i'd suggest trying to find out why your boyfriend feels the way he does about gift-giving. i too think christmas is "stupid", am not big on holidays in general, and i absolutely detest the phrase "happy birthday," saying it or hearing it. my issue stems from bad experiences during childhood, and i can't help but suspect it's the same for him. it'll take some time to figure it out, but i can almost guarantee it'll change your perspective on how important (or not) gift-giving is.

The girl be petty tho, she is passive aggressive af. You can't ask someone to give you something by guilt-tripping them lmfao. I think she should just be communicating with her partner honestly and straight to his face. You can't keep giving clues to someone and expect them to figure it out all the time. I think they should be more considerate of each other, communicate more of what they want and what they couldn't give but try. This goes to both sides, having a relationship should be the two of you building each other up.

The emailed question had me real twisted up. Like it's all about communication. My boyfriend's love languages and my love languages are different, but we talk about it. I do gifts & I am really good at gift giving, they're not extravagant, but they're thoughtful. My bf sometimes gets way too anxious and overthinks the gift so much I fear he'll get sick. So we've worked out that instead he asks me what I would like so I give him three options straightforwardly. I've also drafted a Google Doc with options of what I like. However, I appreciate anything he thinks to give me, because he shows me his love all year-round. But BM is right, relationships are give and take. (I've been with my bf for 2 years going on 3)

And from a person that was raised not celebrating holidays nor birthdays. our family does give gifts or we do something special on random days, it shows we love them appreciate and thinking about them, plus there is no pressure to recipiente. So the boyfriend should be taking extra effort to show he cares on regular non holidays so she doesn't feel left out during holidays, this will show respect for both , compromise
