I think in the last couple of months the Chinese government went to either Laos or Cambodia and arrested a hundred or so human traffickers and took them back to China for criminal trials and jail. I think it’s because one of the Chinese prisoners actually managed to contact someone back home in China and the government cooperated with the Cambodians authorities and arrested them. I’m not sure if that stopped anything in the long run or they just got replaced by new criminals. But at least there can be serious consequences.
