Holistic Cancer Treatments for Cats | Caroline’s Cancer Journal, Ep. 6

There's one thing that keeps coming up for me throughout this intense period with Caroline, and that’s how primal it seems our need to feel in control of the world around us - which, of course, is an illusion at best.
While we have to look this insidious disease squarely in the eye, day after day, knowing that we are largely powerless over it, there are times where we can at least relax into rituals of care that make everyone - Caroline, as well as us humans - feel like we are taking it back.
That’s where our house call vet, Dr Liz Fernandez, comes in. On our therapy days, she works on Caroline, and the benefits are instantly recognizable. Through Acupuncture, Cold Laser Therapy, and a concentrated hour of loving care, we can end the day feeling blessed for the time we have - not dreading the time we won’t have.

Been thinking of you Jackson. My 20 year old was in palliative for a long while, but I sadly had to make the hard decision very recently. She passed on Tuesday, peacefully. She had the best life, she was loved to absolute distraction and she paid me back ten fold in the love she showed me. We're never prepared, never ready and it never gets any easier, but it is so worth it. My thoughts are with you and Caroline xx

So sad. I just lost my Lilly to cancer a few weeks ago. She ate voraciously to the end, but was cachexic. On the day, she looked up into my eyes with a pleading look and a whisper meow, and I knew it was the day. It is the most messed up thing we have to decide as humans, to choose the day that will be the last for our wuvvies. I fed her a huge bowl of tuna, and then off we went for her trip to heaven. The grief was unbearable but is slowly lessening. I am thankful that Lilly and I had one perfect day together filled with cuddles, purrs, and head boops a few days before. I am so sorry, Jackson, that you and your family are losing your beloved Caroline.

I am 76 years old and have rescued six cats and two dogs over the last 40 years. My last dog died last year and I’ve decided no more pets as I don’t want my pets to outlive me. Cats are wonderfully different and loving and I do miss them a lot

On my last one, 50s and term ill. Last one I put down as she had cancer didnt want to have her suffer. Pets hide it out of instinct when it shows its too late. Resuced this one from an abusive home shes turned out to the the best yet. Ill never understand people (2 I know) that have pets that cant stand, walk too sick and STILL refuse to put them down. Selfish and cheap.

Caring for a sick animal, or person, comes with so much stress that its hard to be gentle at times... you want them to eat, they have treatments that are difficult... at the end of the day it is essential that they still spend quality time and not let your stress and fear take over. Takes some work really.... Jackson is being great, and the lady is a pearl....

We let our cat Ellie, go this past Wednesday 21, she had a heart murmur, since she was born, the place we adopted her gave us 5 to 7 year's with her. Miss Ellie, had 7 year's and 7 months with us now are in the grieving process, best of Luck with your kitty ❤.

I wish to anything i could’ve gone through this with our Ozzie. I still don’t forgive myself for not realising he was sick until it was too late. In the end it was brutal. But he must’ve forgiven us because just over a year later he sent me a half frozen kitten who is eerily like him. He’ll be there to greet Caroline when she passes ❤️❤️❤️from us three.

my friend. Even if you do everything right, you can still lose. Do not live with that blame. Let go of it. You are playing a mindboggling what if - woulda shoulda coulda game with yourself. We all can do better in so many things. If if if ... it sucks, yes. I agree with you. I'd be super mad at myself for a long time as well, knowing myself, but at one point, you need to let go. If you treated your cat, your friend, your partner, your family member well and they lived a good life, then you will surely know, they would not want you to feel bad like this. They had a roof, they had food, they got love, they had everything they needed and wanted and more. Let go, my friend. Find your peace and rather be thankful that you had them. Keep the good memories in your mind and your heart

Prayers for Caroline and your family. Acupuncture is amazing. Thank you for sharing the journey with Caroline and her cancer. I lost my 14 year old House Panther Pyewacket to bladder cancer. The hardest part besides knowing that there was absolutely nothing I could do to save him, was feeling so alone because people didn't understand how devastated I was because of it. There was nothing I could do to save my baby. I kept him as comfortable as I could until it came time for the inevitable. I miss him laying on my chest, purring me to sleep...🖤🙏🐾🐈‍⬛

So happy holistic is helping Caroline. I wish we had a house call vet here when our beautiful boy had primary hemolytic anemia,He was going to vets every couple of weeks for bloodwork. Oh, God, Jackson, I've watched all six videos in this series and feel so much for you I'm crying. It's heart-breaking, but your depth of love and devotion to your pets shines through. You are a GOOD man. THANK YOU for sharing this with us, for revealing your grief and private thoughts. Six weeks ago, I lost my beloved cat of 15 yrs. to throat cancer. I, too, could not put her through an operation at her age. It would not have saved her anyway, as it was an astonishingly fast-growing cancer. I pampered her in every possible way for 2 weeks before the home euthanasia. I only had 2 weeks. The grief has nearly killed me, so profound was my love. Love and hugs to you and your family.

Where I'm at the vets are just starting to go into alternative care forms. When my Leo kitty was diagnosed with IBD the vet gave us 6 months to a year for him. I did my own research and started him on CBD oil and started home massaging his pressure points. He lived for 3 almost 4 years beyond that initial diagnosis. Yes he did eventually need steroids and other medicines and the CBD stopped being as effective for him, but it really helped him long term.

I think what was the worst thing...I wish my old boy had cancer somewhere other than his face. It grew behind his eye, so even though he was still playful, still energetic, still eating and cuddly, I had to make the decision to let him go. It needed to happen before it did something too far to his eye...which was beginning to happen. Cancer is such a cruel thing. You have my sympathies. Hope she can have a gentle passing, whenever that time comes.

FYI... One of the best things to use for healing almost everything is a frequency generator called a rife machine. Has 160,000,000 frequencies. GB4000 is my favorite

My cat and dog are both on palliative care. My cat has injection site sarcoma and he can no longer tolerate oncology treatments or further surgeries, he is only 6 years old. My dog has lived a full life at 21 and is going through kidney failure. It's been very hard and very lonely sitting in this strange place holding my loved ones as I look at their life and death sitting together on a teeter totter, never really knowing what to expect. Suffering and death are powerful teachers that I never wanted, but I suppose it's something I have to go through and just keep going through despite how I feel. I'm treasuring each moment I have with my family. Your videos have helped me process the myriad of emotions that come with cancer, illness, palliative and hospice care, and I don't feel so alone. Thank you Jackson for being so brave and sharing Caroline's journey. It matters to people like me who are going through this. We're here along side Caroline and your family. We will keep all of you in our prayers.
