I'm wondering if maybe the Strip Dominator is simply maxed out on that 406 combo. Curious how those intakes would compare on a smaller cube engine.

@@mikewillett5076 Same here, it was designed way before great heads modern solid rollers came along Have a brand new one in the box and also a 300-110 Dornton. Running an old USA made Weiand 7530 I spent many hours porting. Like to try the 110 just not sure how it would affect things either way

The Dominator intake really wasn't that far behind the others, just wondering if maybe the others wouldn't do as good on a smaller engine and the Dominator would shine? Was wondering about the original Torker as well. Would it shine on a 283/307 while not enough intake on a 350 and up or is the Victor, Dominator, etc better even in the smaller engines? 🤷

Ran my 406 sbc with a super vic and a holley strip dominator in a 69 camaro. Afr 227 heads, 278/282 cam, 830 carb. The strip dominator was 1 to 2 tenths faster. Running low tens at 3000ft da and 3300 lb car with driver

Hey Eric, Tim here, yea, below 4000 on a race/bracket motor is fairly worthless.....my stahl is about 4000/4200 on my 462 Pontiac......people were suggesting i advance the cam a few degrees.....WHY?, WHY?......that bolsters bottom end, i already have more tq than hp, and by the time my converter comes in, i'd be past it anyway........so i'm with you fer sure.......below 4000 is GREAT for a street/strip combo, where you want tq down low, to move the car......but in the bracket world, 4000 on, is where our motors do their job, so i'm STILL with you........just wanted to say......another great EWR Vid of usefull info, TY sir!!

I had my bmp ported along with my dragon slayers and I really felt a difference stock vs ported.

Did the same to a sbc Team G, solid roller 383. Absolutely could tell a difference. Worried ifI use a larger single plane (300-110 Dornton) if Id lose part throttle response torque or if its a nice gain period. So hard to tell just by looking these days.

Aftermarket intake manifold manufacturers had some strange theories in the late 1970s to mid 1980s. The Edelbrock SP2P comes to mind first. 😮

I'd like to see an intake comparison on smaller cube engines. Maybe some intakes are taxed on the bigger cube engines but do great on a smaller one? How bout an original Torker, a Scorpion, a Strip Dominator, stock 4 barrel, Performer, and Performer RPM on say a 7,000 RPM peak 327? 350? 283?
