I grow kohlrabi here in southern Maine but I learned a few new things on how to grow them better from you. I like to preserve my kohlrabi by slicing them about the size of sliced water chestnuts, blanching and freezing them. I use them in place of water chestnuts in Asian cooking. I dehydrate the leaves, 0:16 then pulverize them into a green powder which I mix in with other green powders and add to meatloaf and soups in small amounts to add more nutrition. I love your easy teaching style and how you demonstrate how to cook the veggies when you harvest them. I’m looking forward to spring and garden season.

I grew kohlrabi here in NC for the first time this spring. Very easy to grow, full of vitamin C, too. I ended up just slicing and taking to work to crunch on raw. Going to transplant some seedlings to containers soon. I can also see potential for making coleslaw with this!

A smart woman never complains! You may not do it the same way but if you are sincere in your effort we are sincere in our gratitude! My husband does our laundry and will empty the dishwasher any time I ask or if he wants a coffee cup that is in the clean dishes he just empties the whole thing. I vacuum, sweep, and mop. We usually make the bed together and toilets and mirrors are all mine. He did some cooking after I had a new Spinal Cord Stymulator battery put in. I had 2 incisions this time. The old battery was just about impossible to charge where it was placed on me before. So he learned how to use the Ninja Foodi the new oven our Ninja drink maker. After I was able to cook again he promptly forgot how they all work.

@@HollisNancysHomestead I'll always try something once. I like lots of baby greens, it's the big ones I have trouble with. I was nervous about trying beet greens, but it turns out I really like them in a mixed green salad. I find carrot greens to be way too bitter for me. Next year, I have a feeling I'll know whether or not I like kohlrabi greens!

I direct sewed 15 Mar which is second week of autumn here in New Zealand. The seed came up really quickly and I progressively thinned. They should have been ready in 60 days but they reached winter and never formed a bulb. Now its spring and whilst there is a little swelling at the base the plants are actually going to seed. Ive been using the tops and leaves in casseroles. Not sure why they never formed the bulb, possibly overcrowding??

RECYCLING SOIL... 1) Is it your thoughts that starting seeds should be in soil that hasn't been previously used ? 2) should the soil maintain a little moisture until the seeds sprout? 3) where do you store your unused seeds. Dry cool ? Refrigerator? Plastic bags?
