In these progression videos, I appreciate the 5 gallon bucket "grow-along", because right now that's what I have. I know it takes good planning, good control, and good record keeping to bring us these comparisons. Just wanted you to know that some of us know this isn't magic, and it's nowhere near as easy and carefree to make these videos as you make it seem. Very well done. High education value. Hollis, when you say, “harden off”, what does that mean? Does it mean setting the seedling outside for a specific time? The cabbage looks SO beautiful! ❣️♥️❣️
@HollisNancysHomestead4 жыл бұрын
I start all my seeds under a 40% shade cloth. After the seedlings form true leaves and are getting big enough to transplant, I gradually introduce them to more direct sun out from under the shade cloth until they can stay our for a full day. This usually takes about 5-7 days. At that point the seedlings are hardened off. They can take full sun all day and the stems are strong enough to resist wind. They are now ready to transplant

That green one might not be a green napa seed that got mixed in! It could be a natural variation, that's how purple cabbage happened in the first place. Let it bolt and try reseading, you may be developing your own variety of cabbage. If that's true, you get to name it whatever you want!
