What do you mean shame? Did he do something wrong? Assuming you mean him getting hit twice at the start: that is intentional for the fury of the fallen charm. His attacks deal more damage while low hp.

You're better off using your abyss shrieks to finish off phase one, leaving him at very low health for phase 2 where there are less damage opportunities
