Hollow Knight: The Best Indie Game Ever Made

The most heartfelt moment in hollow knight that took me by surprise was when you had to kill the mine lady at some point of the game… at first after I defeated a boss I would check up on her and see if she did any progress mining and to hear tip bit of a song she was trying to remember. She remembers the song saw some progress in the mining and I was like wow “what a complex little character” I’ll have to check you up again later, and when I got back she became feral and I had to strike her down… that moment I did that I saved quit so many times to try to “change” what happened, but to no avail.

Some tips for combat is mastering the pogo jump and using spells Spells are really strong and i recomend using them but if you really dont like them or cant use them no matter what then dont bother with them

hey man, the game is very learnable you just have to push through, i went from dying to the false knight to beating the hardest challenge in the game. Dont be discouraged by how long it takes you, play at your own pace. As long as youre enjoying yourself thats what matters :)

@@xela953 thanks dude Different reactions from one of my old friends every time I tried to play a game for the first time he had to prove he was better by constantly berating me and beating me down in it made me hesitant to play this game tho I'm glad I started

It’s such a nice feeling to see someone as passionate as you are about something (or at least close to it) I experienced hollow knight 100% blind and I’m glad I did. It’s played a big part in shaping my artistic side and how I tell stories. Deepnest Is amazing.

Every time someone speaks about Hollow Knight it feels like they played a different game. I mean yeah, it was beautiful in every sense of the word and a great experience, but it didn't grasp me nearly as strongly as it seems to have the rest of the world. Maybe I'm just not that into MetroidVanias, but after defeating what I taught to be the final boss I just didn't know what to do in the game anymore and just stopped playing. I don't know how to express it properly, but I feel something about the game got lost on me, which is kinda sad.

Well, that sounds completely normal. I played games I would say are a 10/10 for me, but stopped playing after beating it. It is just that some games are not that replayable. For me personally these are metroid vanias. I LOVE metroid vanias, but the joy of exploring can only be felt once. There are some exceptions, that include e.g. challanges, changes in ng+, different endings, etc. (for me that was blasphemous, a really good metroidvania) I don't know how that is in hollow knight. I haven't played it yet. I don't like the art style and soundtrack very much, while everyone praises it for these points. But I do appreciate hollow knight bringing a lot of people to the genre. TLDR: People like different things and it's ok to stop playing

I so need to play Hallow knight. The only metroidvania I've played is Blasphemous which is a other phenomenal game with its story and its art direction. (I highly recommend it!) Its music is also good too.

So I never really paid attention to video game soundtracks until I played Hollow Knight. It’s got some of the best video game music ever. Helps that the orchestra I play in recently did a video game concert with Hollow Knight music as part of the repertoire.

Hollow knight is a great game, but best indie game ever made is certainly a stretch. While it did polish what had already been laid by many other developers, and refine it to a point, creating memorable and diverse areas and bosses, it didn't put very many new things on the table, nor did it achieve any groundbreaking milestones (apart from it's popularity of course). also bro's at 1BC and he's still balancing scroll stats, using a ranged weapon with melee, and not running sheilds in survival. _sigh_ guess some people never get the memo huh.
