As someone who works in the USPS, we work with UPS extremely close, as does Amazon. I know that work from their strike is going to swamp us, and carriers within the postal service have talked about using it as an opportunity for us to get better bargaining leverage as well.

the greatest thing about this writers strike and the streaming wars is that it exposed how all of these companies got greedy at the same time, all thought they could replicate netflix's success, realized how INSANE it is to produce content at that scale without destroying themselves, and will eventually all shut down and go back to producing content for netflix. i predict disney+ will shut down in 2 years

To Ben's point at around 32:00 , Adam Conover (who's been in talks with union negotiators and knows their strategy) says that the Union's dream is that some smaller networks come to the table sooner and that their desperation to get content produced will set a bar that the bigger companies (Netflix, Disney, etc.) will have to follow, likely with more demands met than Disney would give if left to its own volition. So Ben's not wrong that there will be companies that break sooner (I hadn't heard broadcast networks mentioned but it's a smart angle) but it doesn't sound like there would be unique contracts.

It is what you make it honestly. You can get honest news from individuals instead of Fox or CNN which usually focus on what will get views, not what’s important (like I knew about the refugees in Greece on day 1 of the submersible thing when the news channels were only talking about the billionaires), there’s lots of people able to show their talents and small businesses, express their creativity, but there’s also a lot of shitty people in the comments. If you’re on the girls and the gays side, it’s a nice time. The guys side sucks. The algorithm is very shapeable to your specific interests
