I just got home from seeing Reagan at the theater, and frankly I give it 5 stars. Dennis Quaid absolutely nailed Reagan, and I went into the movie thinking this was going to be a huge hangup for me. His voice, facial expressions, and body language were perfect. From the opening of the movie where Reagan was giving a speech, I immediately was fully engaged. The other thing that struck me in this movie beyond all of the great reminders of the man and leader Reagan was, is that the culture that he was countering was incredibly parallel to our current culture and recent events. I won't offer any spoilers here, but as someone who was in high school and college during Regan's presidential terms, I found this movie to be a trip down memory lane of this great time in American leadership. On a side note, as a Freshman in college I went to see/hear Reagan speak in Norman, OK in October of 1986. At that time Oklahoma had a republican US senator named Don Nickles who was on stage at the event with Reagan since he was running for re-election. At one point during Reagan's speech, he introduced Don "Rickles" (who had actually roasted President Reagan a few years previously, and he loved it) and welcomed him to the podium. The packed arena burst out in laughter almost like the president indented it, but neither Reagan nor senator Nickles acknowledged his humorous slip of the tongue.

John Voight was never just another actor but a craftsman and a artist. In every role, he digs deep into the character. What this interview revealed was the Russian people didn't hate Americans like what the Soviets wanted. I think I've read most of Dostoyevsky's books, showing the transition of Czarist Russia and the Communist who attempted an Earthly paradise without God. It was doomed for failure as Dostoyevsky learned the hard way by going to Siberia. Corruption was the same under the Czars as it was under the Soviets. How Regan defeated them was to use their own propaganda against them. Despite the failures of both the Soviets and Mao's China where millions died our modern liberals are making the same mistakes not learning from either ancient or modern history,. Voight hasn't allowed Hollywood taint his public or private life. He is humble despite always doing great work.

Won’t be surprised if “critics” give the movie a Low rotten tomato score.
@eyasu68242 ай бұрын
They gave it 23% But they gave Hollywood disaster. Woke acolyte Star wars 78%. But what's hilarious is average Joe score is complete opposite, They love Reagan and they hate acolyte

Who on earth are still giving a minimum attention on RT ratings? Stop being brainwashed by stuff like that 😂😂😂
@ArmandQ.2 ай бұрын
@@biancaenera2500 It's actually pretty accurate nowadays. If the critic score is very low in his 20 or 30%, but the audience score is above 60% you can bet it's worth watching 😉

Didn’t RT remove user reviews? So, it’s now just a site for corporate pandering.

Why do my fellow constitutionalists worship Ronald Reagan? Are we _that_ unaware?
@kalburgy21142 ай бұрын
@ZeroESG.goopootoob Because Reagan was the only President who wasn't in favor of the leftward trend in government since Coolidge. What constitutionalism we have seen would not have been possible without Reagan.

No surprise! The left hated The Sound of Freedom. I saw the movie yesterday and loved it. As a person who fled communism I love Reagan for his fight against communism. He was so right about communism trying to infiltrate our government and Hollywood. My father, who fought the communists back in Cuba, loved Reagan. My uncle gave every month to support the Reagan Library. A man of God, a warrior and a gentleman.

My wife and I saw this movie last week. The script and acting were well done. I remember going to a speech Ronald Reagan gave in Thousand Oaks, California when Reagan was campaigning for Barry Goldwater in 1964. I really enjoyed the movie and I would recommend it to all ages.

In 1981 when I was a young 21 year old US Army Buck Sergeant, I worked with other men, and women, at a US Army Nike Hercules Air Defense Battery in West Germany. We had nuclear rockets ready to fire at Russian bombers. We were vigilant against the communist threat that Ronald Regan effectively defeated, winning that Cold War with no nukes being launched, thank you God! It was a fascinating time when the USA was at a low point. The communists never stop trying to defeat US, but they do change tactics. Recently we have been living through the “Great AwOkening” but it’s still the same war. Stay informed and remain vigilant because freedom is never free or easy.

Loved John in movie “Coming Home” about disabled Vietnam Veteran…. Unfortunately, his female love interest in the movie was played by “HANOI JANE”. Oh, the irony😮

Woah! Dennis Quaid annihilates that role. OMG ! I hope he wins an Oscar. wow. He doesn't have one, yet. Remmy Malik won one for playing Freddie Mercury. So, the old rule no longer stands. I hope Dennis finally gets his Academy Award. But he won't, because he is playing Reagan.
