Thank you for honoring the ethereally beautiful Kim Novak. Vertigo and Bell Book and Candle are two of my top twenty favorite movies because of Kim. I first saw Vertigo on the TV when around 10 or 11 during a bout of flu that kept me from going with the rest of my family to some event. I was running enough of a mind-bending fever that, along with the actual movie, a powerful and moving impression was left on me. I immediately became a huge fan of this film and of Hitchcock in general, (except for The Birds and years before I learned about his cruelty to Tippi Hedren).

As the only "film star beauty" this non movie buff ever loved, i'd only like to say that perhaps her most defining role was to stay true to being herself. And now i love her even more. Appreciate this thoughtful look at a real person - thank you!

Scrolling through the comments, I'm pleasantly surprised to see so many people listing Bell, Book and Candle as a favorite. I loved this movie when I saw it on TV as a kid, and a couple of times after, but it seems to have been largely forgotten.

This one was fascinating. I simply thought Kim Novak was so mysterious when I was a child and we saw all her movies. Always felt happy for her to escape the meat grinder that is the film industry and try so hard to find roles on her terms. ❤

Real Actress❣️ I always thought of her as live, in a play onstage. She never was "Hollywood", or a movie star. She felt REAL. A lot of courage and not conforming. Just rewatched Picnic last week. Total admiration👍🏽👏🏾🎭❣️ (I had a huge crush on Sammy Davis, Jr! I read Yes, I Can! and invited him to my bas mitzvah🤷🏽♀️ I grew up in theater, and I loved performers who held nothing back, who were total energy. Getting to see him and Liza Minelli together Live~same kind of full-tilt-boogie energy~ was a dream❣️)

"Bell, Book and Candle" is one of my all-time favorite movies and it stars the wonderful Kim Novak, who plays a very sensuous witch. The rest of the cast in this movie is phenomenal: Jimmy Stewart, Jack Lemmon, Elsa Lancaster, Ernie Kovacs and Hermione Gingold. Twilight Zone fans might also recognize Janice Rule who plays Kim's rival.

The word is reevaluation, not revaluation. Just because Trump mentioned for Ms. Novak to sue her plastic surgeon, I don't fault him one bit. I'm a nobody, and I would have said the same thing, although, I would have said it quietly to my own friends, not publicly. You've got to feel some empathy if someone has a botched surgery, especially if their bread and butter is their face.

Ya know, I have to admit that I had dismissed Kim as a 'sex kitten' archetype, but actually she's really cool and maintained her convictions at a time when it wasn't so easy to be a progressive public figure. This bio is also a reminder to me to not judge a book by it's cover which is such an easy trap to fall into.

Reality check. President Trump was an extremely good looking young man so zip it 🤐 You ain’t got nothing to criticize him about! He spoke the truth! The fact is, you hate he said it because snowflakes like you are over sensitive, intolerant tyrants and don’t want anyone to have the freedom to say anything you don’t approve of!

Plastic surgery was one of the worst things to ever happen to women, other than feminism! Age gracefully, because I assure you, no matter how adept your surgeon is, people know, especially mem...we don't like it at all. Women can only be doing it for themselves, cause I don't personally know any man who would rather have a plastic woman!!
