WOW October 1965 I was a new born 4 months old, but I love how the Hollywood palace was back then when they made these shows 1964-70 when I looked it up for today, NO much different, now they got those ugly movable chairs, there's no classy big roomy chairs & those little corner stairs the celebs used to sit on by the lovely footlights, and they took those beautiful footlights out too! Ughh nah that place isn't the Hollywood palace as I knew it to be again some things can't be re-done or improved 👑👑👑🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

"I got you babe"!!!😉😉👍🎹 Cher's pants jumpsuit needs to make comeback!!! I am digging it big time! I like the song "Baby don't go". I loved Abby Lanes performance and it was all done in another language! Black dude playing the Banjo ....wow! Zenith TV's were big time until Sony came stomping in and kicking them to the curve with a better made TV years later!!

Cher wearing flats and Sonny really built up boots. And the show runs the record. A big show like this and they couldn’t have the orchestra play it live! Hollywood Palace never did well in the ratings. I always watched it.

Sonny & Cher appear to be singing live to pre-recorded backing tracks. They had no orchestrations for the band. What's strange for me is watching Sonny's awkward "acting" during the second song where he doesn't sing at all.
@johnandrews4145
@johnandrews4145 8 жыл бұрын
Yes, because of the huge cameras, RCA TK-43c, and the size of the stage most of the non-professional singers opted not to sing live. There was an orchestra located stage left, in a part of the lower audience seating. Most chart 'hit' songs were used from recording studio specially prepared tracks to 'preserve' the 'singers sound'. Dance/singing numbers were often 'pre-recorded' the night before - again to allow no mics in the wide shots. Interestingly, the first comment from one of the producers upon meeting Sonny & Cher [arriving in their bear coats] was "Take them out and get them a bath!" {They stunk!}
