When any genre becomes as big and mainstream as superhero genre, bad films is the norm. The best thing that can happen to the genre is for it to die like westerns did (yes i know they didnt actually die). That way whenever someone does decide to make a superhero movie, they'll tend to put more thought into it.

@@richardcharles4126 - I gotta dissagree, a good film with super's in it is still a good film, what's missing is the good part. So called experts say this film is going to be a hit but the public don't judge films the same way as critics do. Critics see how complex the lighting was, how that brand new type of CG they used turned out or how varied the location was and dozens of other things that the critic's nit pick over that the rest of us do not even notice because we are not directly looking for them, we only see the end result but the most important part is how did the film make me feel. Was the story engaging? Did it blow our minds? etc etc. All those give us an emotional attachment to the film. Like did time feel like it just flew by and then at the end did you wish the film would keep going for a lot longer? It's these intangible things that create strong emotions that make a movie "good" or not. We know a good show when we see it, no one has to tell us it's good we just know. I mean would a westen sell well today? Of course it would "if" it was an original exciting story it just couldn't fail. Variety is the spice of life after all so it's without question that hammering any genre to death will never be a good idea. But don't stop completely, as there's no need too, everyone I know still loves scifi again it's the good part that's missing. And for gods sake hire your actors based on there skill alone "do not" pick actors base solely on there race or sexuality alone, this a massive mistake killing many shows at this time. Also people hate to be taken for fools so taking beloved character and replacing them with another race, sex or sexuality based of what some random heavily biased organisations thinks is in trend is a garrenteed PR disater just waiting to happen. But isn't everything I said a no brainer? If not, why isn't it?

Normally when a genre undergoes "fatigue" it doesn't mean that the audience is tired of it, it means that the writers have run out of ideas. Yeah, but the producers see themselves as great professionals. Sure, they may underestimate the potential of a movie from time to time, or think they have a real blockbuster and have it only perform well, not great - that's due to the huge number of variables involved. But an expected hit turning into a real flop? Must be something external. And if that happens more than once, and the similar movies that didn't flop only perform so-so... it *must* be genre fatigue, what else? Noone can predict when that will happen, so no fault on their side. You think they will admit that "the message", crappy writing, complete lack of respect for source material and deconstruction everywhere just for the sake of it might have caused that? Keep dreaming. It's genre fatigue, period. They'd have to admit to mistakes and change their approach - that won't happen, you'll get a search for a new cash cow genre instead. And some frustration that it's not going too well - because they'll reuse their "correct by definition" approach in everything they do.

And they take iconic storylines and butcher them. Batman V Superman was part death of Superman, part dark Knight returns, and a justice league prequel. With The Flash, they take his most iconic Flashpoint paradox story and try to safe bet it. They had Wonder Woman, they had Aquaman, they had all the pieces as far as Jeffery Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan. They could have done a very faithful story. They butcher and run through all these storylines that we're left with a mess and nothing else to adapt 🤷♂️ And Keaton would have been better in a Batman Beyond movie imo.

I don't think it's superhero fatigue. We've been telling stories about an ordinary man or woman gaining power and saving humanity likely for thousands of years. Those stories tend to inspire us. I think it's fatigue with crappy writing. It's an interesting twist to give one of these heroes some flaws maybe making them very flawed where it blurs the line between hero and villain. Spawn for example does a good job with that. When you make the characters it's so arrogant or so annoying or so unpleasant that you can't root for them it just turns people off it's hard to mess up that story.

I miss when movies were good and worth the ticket price. Back when movies like Fight Club and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas were being made. There is nothing even remotely close to anything creative and entertaining like that being made anymore, and most likely never will again, smfh.

Remember when Marvel films felt like different genres on their own. Like Iron Man being the action film, Thor being the fantasy film, Captain America being the period film and The Avengers was the epic film. Then some more of the same but Winter Soldier was an espionage film, Ant-Man was a heist film and Gaurdians was a Sci fi film?....I miss those days

So many great stories in comics and these studios like Disney and Warner Brothers blew it. All they had to do was stick to the source material.

I don't want current day Hollywood adapting Emperor Joker. I hate current day Harley Quinn, Batman brave and the Bold couldn't even adapt the story right, and they'd make it a Batman movie than a Superman character study.

Love seeing you grow, man! I would say that I am personally not superhero fatigued, I am woke fatigued. Give me a good superhero movie/story and I'm all about it. It's just modern fantasy for me, and if they could make something original that was good or something that was true to the source material I am sure they'd see the money flow again. They'd rather push an agenda and try to shame people for being normal and not wanting beloved character to be destroyed than created something original.

Also, I've got to mention, the biggest mistake for me during all of this, in the last 15-20 perhaps, is the removal of Henry Cavill as Superman. There has been no bigger mistake made than that. There is literally no one, on Earth, that embodies Superman as well as Cavill. Not only that, he's loved! What a great guy.

Cavil embodies Superman, I agree. But the character he played in the DCEU barely resembled that.

Alright but it makes sense if they want a Superman that appears in movies for the next 15 years... You can't have a 55-60 old playing Superman. Not to mention that partial reboot is stupid... it confuses everyone.

for some it is. i was over capeshit before it started. saw Iron Man, from what I remember it wasn't terrible but ugh, those movies are just not for me. and i wouldnt hate them so much if capeshit didn't have such an effect on the movie industry. mainly the whole 'shared universe' BS that EVERY company needs to have now! and ofc that led to endless shitty movies trying to replicate marvel, who are not that great.

You can't have superhero fatigue when there are still successful superhero movies. The movies that fail are garbage and deserve to fail and it isn't just superheroes that are doing it. Pretty much everything Disney puts out tanks at the box office. Maybe there's Disney fatigue, but not superhero fatigue.

Man that writing strike is in deep sh!t Asking for more money and better benefits while the writing quality in Hollywood has never been worse… Man I feel bad for the people that are genuinely good writers but have their work completely screwed with by executives and Woke producers, because at this point we’ll never know which is which

Like everyone else is saying: It's not "superhero fatigue" it's "woke shit/message fatigue" I'm sure everyone is looking forward to Hugh Jackman coming back as Wolverine for example. Plus Kraven looks great and and Blue Beetle looks awesome in my opinion, Although there have been movies where the trailer was actually better than the movie.
@leargamma4912 Жыл бұрын
I do not trust the blue beetle. Batman brave and bold from 2011 to 2013[2014?] did a better job with Jaime's character than the trailer of the new movie has me believe. I dunno. It seems like taking ideas and concepts only to fail adapting them.

Most of these people will know levels of fame, power and wealth that very few humans could ever imagine. The same people who make slop, act poorly and relentlessly lecture..while looking down on their audiences. This holds true not only for Hollywood, but most global corporations and governments. We use to fear an Armageddon event
@yourwrong6125 Жыл бұрын
its not fatigue people arent tired of the super heros they cherish and love. People are tired of Hollywood screwing up everything about those characters and adventures. Hollywood had generations of mind blowing content and characters to work with and threw it away to push "progressive" social issues.

Kinda hard to go on box office numbers when most people these days would rather stream a movie from the comfort of their own home, and with so many pirate websites out there streaming new movies for free, I can't really blame them. Who really wants to sit on sticky seats, listening to someone else's brats throw a fit, while paying $10 for a soda?

“Superhero fatigue” isn’t a real thing right now. People love watching their beloved superhero stories come to life. The real problem involves the politics that fans have to swallow with their entertainment. We’re tired of criminals playing our heroes, inaccurate depictions of our favorite characters, and hollyweird’s false sense of superiority.

When people who know comics recommended something that sounded interesting, I gave it a shot.
