I was very annoyed how Taskmaster in black widow was done. In the comics he's a jive talking, fun merc and henchman trainer that can copy your moves just by watching you. He knows almost every martial art, and had the potential of fighting black widow with all the styles of the avengers... and they did to him what they did to Deadpool in Wolverine. Completely removed his defining features and made him a blank slate genderswap. I'll rattle through the others: Loki felt like Marvel Rick and Morty so I never saw it, and it proved to be a good idea. When She-Hulk rolled around I'd seen the pattern emerging from super hero content and had long ago parachuted to safety, it was worse beyond my initial preconceptions and it confirmed to me that Rick and Morty style californian cynicism masquerading as comedy and 2016 ghostbusters style attacks on the audience were going to be the standard going forward. I didn't even know the Eternals movie existed until it was tanking in its 2nd week. And Dr. Strange MOM is only worthy of dissection for film students like how a med student needs to cut into cadavers to learn what not to do.

Hearing about the scientist lady in Black Widow INSTANTLY brought to mind comparisons to Doctor Halsey from the Halo franchise. Like that character, Halsey was a scientist who conducted insanely unethical experiments on countless kidnapped children, ruined their lives, and eventually got them killed. And yes, the main character pretty much forgives her for it. The difference is, the entire rest of the galaxy doesn’t - she’s considered the biggest war criminal on the human side and constantly goes back and forth between ranting about how her actions were necessary, and being utterly broken by what a monster she realizes she is. And while John does forgive her, it’s made very very clear that he’s not exactly in the best mental state to be doing so and can’t weigh the situation objectively. Same basic setup, but man is one done better than the other.

As someone who worked at Marvel Studios from Spider-Man : Homecoming through Spider-Man : Far From Home, I can honestly say that my departure was one of the most fortunate events in my life. I would be embarrassed to see my name in the credits of the mess they called Phase 4. I really feel bad for the people working there and while I did have several light conversations with Kevin Feige and believe that he really is a nice fellow, one of the issues people are not aware of is that when Disney decided to spin-up Disney+, they put an amazing level of stress on the 150 people who make up the business side of Marvel Studios. When they shifted from two to three movies a year, it was tough. Adding in three to five TV shows a year for additional content to make Disney+ a potential success really broke the environment. One of the last things I did in very early pre-production was set up the file storage environment for "Blue Bayou" which became Black Widow. This was late 2018 and was well before Covid derailed Hollywood. It really is sad but when you need someone to truly blame, look no further than Disney. The only ounce of love he ever felt was from Madame Giri when she helped him escape the traveling circus as a child, after having been abandoned by his mother for being so deformed, though in some iterations his mom's the one that did scar him by pushing his face on a furnace as a child, and the moment he falls in love as an adult he begins to commit horrendous acts of violence. Nerdrotic, I agree with like.. 99% of what you're saying about the MCU, but to claim that every scene which involves a man shedding tears is a way to encourage the emasculation of men is a tad extreme, don't you think? While men certainly need to reclaim a bit of macho, there is healthy macho and there is toxic macho, and to believe that men can not now and then burst as the challenges of life heaps up both within and without, at times to crippling pressure, then you're just reintroducing a tenet that view crying men as pathetic rather than just humans who actually need that release. It can feel good to shout and punch, and it can also feel good to cry, because you are literally expelling what's bothering you, like it's muddied water you just have to get rid of, to then move on to face the same difficulties but with increased strength and a renewed mind. The scene with Bucky overcoming his demons deeply ingrained within and put there by external evils is a great and touching scene which did justice to the tale of essentially having been a slave much of his life. Or Hawkeye weeping due to losing his entire family? And weeping out of happiness when they were snapped back? I trust you are probably making a jab at these scenes because of the woke forces behind them, making the intention behind it all sketchy, which I understand, but eh.. maybe calm down a bit with this ancient notion of machism. Remember that the word macho means exaggerated masculinity, and nothing exaggerated, or made too extreme rather, is good for anybody. This does not pertain only to feminism, it goes both ways.

Gao called her haters "boring and predictable" skipping over the fact they were apparently important enough for her to make the effort to predict them in the first place.

"You're boring and predictable. So much so we're going to put millions of dollars, thousands of work hours (because they can't be man hours) and months from the lives of hundreds of people into a show that tells you this. So remember, you're still boring and predictable."
@billsutherby Жыл бұрын
An almost 1-to-1 comparison would be if I pulled my pants down and shit in front of you and you said "Hey you just shit on the floor!" And I say "Look how clever I am. I predicted you would call my shit shit before it happened!" It's almost exactly the same, except the shit could actually be used as fertilizer to grow food; so it actually serves a purpose in existing.

If Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe does somehow surprise us by getting any better in the next two years and find its way to being the good thing again it once was, would you really want to leave Marvel by remembering it as the bad thing it was in Phase 4 forever if that only became a small fraction of the MCU as a whole going forward? Think about that for a minute. You sound like you do not want to remember the good times, and only feel like remembering the bad times in between two different sets of good times.

@@waynehewett4017 😭Why would you ruin the past with a new version nobody likes to watch, except for "modern" audiences who hate everything but identity politics? STOP destroying each and every legacy of pop culture, with evil exitainment (anti-entertainment) and negative nostalgia that gives us what we liked, with everything we liked about it removed! I knew it was easy to be uncreative. I just did not know it was THIS easy to get away with in in professional writing fields!

However, I do still see why you would not care about Marvel again after what Black Widow and Loki did to taint our view of past movies. That is too bad, because I was actually looking forward to them at first back in 2021.

😢When they had all that great success with Marvel in the 2010s, there is no good reason to stop trying and completely change their tune in the 2020s, especially when they lost millions of dollars on The Eternals and Quantumania. I am seriously serious!
@jout738 Жыл бұрын
@@adampkalb Marvel started slowly, but surely become woke in late 2010s, but its felt now in even stronger affect. Captain Marvel was the worst MCU movie from 2010s with woke idea of strong female superhero with meaningless objective in the movie, when she can just crush everybody with her unlikeable personality. Thankfully endgame wasent that woke and didnt give her too much screentime, while they made her little bit too powerful. Good that MCU ended the endgame in 2019 also, because year after year they have just wanted to become more woke, so their movies could absolutely focking dogshite by now.

Same here and from what I've heard modern comic writers themselves have ruined the source material by turning all the heroes gay, beta cucks or into intersectional feminazis. I hope they don't touch the Punisher

The ONLY good thing about Multiverse of Madness was that Sam Raimi was able to take-dear god-one of the single worst scripts of any film I've ever seen in my entire life; and make it fun to watch. It was like a nuclear bomb that exploded into fireworks and confetti. It would still kill an entire population, but at least it was entertaining to view.

This makes me so glad I checked out after Endgame. I imagine this feeling is like selling all your shares of a company at the highest possible stock price right before the company tanks, while watching all the naysayers ride the stock into the ground as they shame you for getting out at the right time. 😊 P. S. I did the same with Dr. Who after Matt Smith left. 😂

It kind of started towards the end of Endgame, all these shows and movies could of been amazing if there weren't trying to drown us in "the message". Despite it some of them were still decent I liked Loki.
