Kittie’s first ever hit. This was them back as teens. The drummer Mercedes and guitarist Fallon were classmates and Morgan the lead singer/guitarist is Mercedes’ sister. Talena was the bassist on this and the next album. One of the following bassists is from here in NYC and I have been drinking with that one, Jen Several times we would go to the same bar in Brooklyn.

The drummer and lead singer are sisters and this was written in high school. They broke the mould for females in rock. Definitely went more for a death metal sound in their following albums. The sisters are the only members that stayed in the group over the years with the guitarist and bass player constantly changing.

Picture it: 1999, I'm a senior in college, these ladies who were actually largely a little *younger* than me popped up on the local radio. It CHANGED MY LIFE. The mosh pit seeing them in Houston in like 2003 was a wild ride. I'm *still* trying to learn how Morgan flips on a dime like that as a singer.

Lead Singer's name is Morgan Landr. Something you would probably be interested in is a song Morgan did with a band called Hed PE. The song is called Feel Good. Feel Good not only features Morgan Landr from KITTIE but also features Serj Tankian from System of a Down. Also, a Disturbed song you guys really need to check out is their track called Liberate. Yeah this their first hit they had. They were between 15-18 years old. They came out with 6 cds between 1998 and 2011, then one of their bass players died and took an extended hiatus. But 2022 they started touring again and they after 13 years, just a few days ago they have a new single out called "eyes wide open" and are working on a new album, due this year.. their first album in 13 years

I’m going to be the one person that mentions the girl in the clip at the beginning that has the sandwich thrown at her face? That was hysterical. Discovered these guys when I went to one of their shows accidentally. I had been told it was Kittens that were playing. So I go down, paid my cover and went in without paying any attention to the marquee or anything. Have to say I was kind of pissed at first when they came on stage since I had skipped work to see one of my favourite bands at the time but they were pretty awesome.

I hung out with them after a gig at the Whiskey once. They’re super down to earth and fun to be around. I still remember hearing Charlotte / Brackish on MTV when I was pretty young and liking them right off the bat. One of their less commonly talked about songs is “In Winter”, worth checking out also.

Glad to see you guys finally react to Kittie. This song isnt the best representation of their music as a whole. After this album they went into a totally different direction musically and were closer to death metal than nu metal. They are still my favorite all-female metal band, and I hope they reunite and start to perform together again. They split indefinitely after their bassist Trish Doan died in 2017. Morgan has performed with other bands Including Karkaos, and Mercedes has been involved in some other projects, but the future of Kittie is uncertain.

I listened to them when I was starting high school, this band nothing face. Brings back memories and so glad people are still listen to them. What always got me into them was because they where and all female band also young for there time in a band. But I also was into cold chamber dark days album, playing tennis at the time 😊❤

Finally listening to Kittie! They don't get enough recognition for how ground breaking they were. Morgan is the first female growler as far as I know. My favorite album start to finish is "Until the end". You should react to "Look so pretty", "Into the Darkness", "Burning Bridges" They have a lot of good songs.
